Normally that haziness in the left upper corner would throw off a picture, but I really like the feel of it in this photo.

I love so much about this photo! It reminds me of a long day at work and you come home and drop them on the floor. This probably would have made me want to buy a print of this had it not been for the reflection of lights on the top middle left. Great job!

I scrolled down and saw this nice dof and nice colored background and then scrolled down more and saw a ratty pair of shoes hanging in a weird position. ;(

I absolutely love the way you put the shoes together. I like the way you tried to be creative also. For me though, shoes like this say "fashion" and the surroundings don't really show "fashion". If you had a sign out there with a big X on it or something, the photo might make a statement. The lighting, rule of thirds, color, focus and crispness is great!

I think it is awesome that you brought other elements into the shot to add to the photo, but the placement of the shoes don't do much for the photo. I think if you moved them around a bit, you could get a great shot with the surrounding

wow, the reflection really makes this image great. I've seen some great lightning shots, but this was is so neat due to the reflection! Great job!

is your hand up against another photo or is that background real out in the open? It almost looks as if you cropped your hand and photoshopped it onto another photo.

I think this would have made more of an impact if you had left everything but the flower itself.

I would have cropped this right to the edge of the pole becuse the brightness of the wood leads your eye straight to that, not the actual focus of the photograph...the lock.

I have almost the same scar (not as prominent) due to running into the corner of a trailer window.

6tann, mastectomy is not necessarily from breast cancer. The first thing I thought of when I saw this photo was " ah that is so sad " and I had sympathy for a minute. But THEN after realizing what really was going on, I understood it was a choice to have this scar, not some horrible disease. Mastectomy is simply the removal of the breast.

this is a great looking shot! That much smoke already with so little of the tip burnt out is almost impossible. I have a wood stove so I've gotten pretty familiar with the strike of matches

Maybe next time try this on a black background with a light shining from off the camera from one side.

yes we can make some adjustments as a whole. Go to the top and put your cursor over "Help", click on "rules and guidelines" and read those rules first. Then after you read those general rules, click on the link that says "photography" and it will give you rules specific to the photography section

oh, I thought you really used a dead person's photo the way you described it. Sorry. The first thing I thought of though before I read your description was that this was some weird fetish of someone of suffocation or strangulation (spelling?).

I think the tilt makes the photo. Your eye is led from one corner of the picture to the opposite corner...the cat to the far table.
