(5 years and 2231 days ago)Voting in this contest was ridiculous
(5 years and 2238 days ago)lol
(5 years and 2256 days ago)You have a singular style, I like it.
(5 years and 2257 days ago)YOU WIN!!
(5 years and 2259 days ago)Congrats!
(5 years and 2261 days ago)Author when I'm having trouble with how to do a shadow I Google image search for pics which might have examples of real shadows in a similar scenario/landscape/light setting, in this case maybe a tree with a large canopy, something like this perhaps

Terry Gilliam smoke!
(5 years and 2269 days ago)Interesting idea
well done
(5 years and 2269 days ago)You know, the flame at the top left of her head, looks like another face, and when I look at this my mind gets fixated on it.
(5 years and 2269 days ago)Perhaps this is one of those times when 'maybe it's just me', but there you go.
The water hands are a nice touch btw
IDGI
(5 years and 2269 days ago)that's great
(5 years and 2270 days ago)I knew someone was gonna do this
(5 years and 2271 days ago)strange shadows here but I like the odd idea
(5 years and 2272 days ago)nice
(5 years and 2272 days ago)Congrats! Great work
(5 years and 2278 days ago)awesome
(5 years and 2285 days ago)Having looked at the original image in the SBS this looks mostly the result of a particular free filter I can't remember the name of. I could be wrong mind you. Either way it's interesting to me at least...I like images that inspire the viewer's brain to make its own interpretation.
(5 years and 2286 days ago)Really like the darkness and mood
(5 years and 2286 days ago)Interesting image
(5 years and 2286 days ago)Author try going to http://search.creativecommons.org/
(5 years and 2288 days ago)it's an easy way to search for images which have been flagged as ok to use for modification/commercial purposes
very good
(5 years and 2291 days ago)Fan of the Fast Show right?
(5 years and 2291 days ago)interesting
(5 years and 2291 days ago)great humour and left-of-centre thinking
(5 years and 2291 days ago)bizarre!
(5 years and 2291 days ago)Like the concept and the work...don't understand the walnut
(5 years and 2291 days ago)Good concept and nice clean work!
(5 years and 2291 days ago)Agreed
(5 years and 2291 days ago)Really like this one well done
(5 years and 2291 days ago)The problem I have with creating SBS's is that I like to experiment with different methods all the time, and often change my mind and make drastic changes halfway through a work, so making an SBS will usually take me a lot of time.
(5 years and 2291 days ago)I don't really understand why people place so much importance on them; I'm more than happy to answer any questions from individuals who might message me asking 'how did you do that bit?'
I like your sense of adventure
(5 years and 2291 days ago)This is NOT a criticism, but I find this entry kind of strange!
(5 years and 2312 days ago)Maybe try sharpening the fish a bit?
(5 years and 2320 days ago)shutterbug!
(5 years and 2320 days ago)Author a handy thing to remember in these situations is to be guided by the light of the source image; in this case the light is from top left, so the front and top faces of the cube should be brightest.
(5 years and 2362 days ago)I think you'd be better of not putting a second vader head on the front face because it confuses the eye.
Author here's an example of what CMYK46 is talking about.
(5 years and 2363 days ago)http://clipartist.info/RSS/png/green_cube_13_8395_8-1979px.png
Really needs some texture matching and IMHO (lol) would be much better with colour
(5 years and 2414 days ago)I like the job on the face more than the fire
(5 years and 2414 days ago)It is quite good
(5 years and 2415 days ago)Awesome idea. Well conceptualized and sourced. Maybe a sourced rather than painted background would work better IMHO because there are some issues with it. I'm not sure why you would paint a second tree rather than alter the first, just to add to the consistency. The zebra's shadow doesn't meet it's feet as it should. I'm only mentioning these things because for me at least they make the difference between this image being good and excellent.
(5 years and 2416 days ago)I demand a sexier elbow
(5 years and 2416 days ago)I like the idea but why stray so much from the time-honoured typography that works for these things?
(5 years and 2416 days ago)'YOUR'
(5 years and 2416 days ago)I *shudder* totally agree with CMYK. The eyes and nose aren't sharp enough to justify the focus of the rest of the image either way. I love the idea (reminds me of WALL-E btw) but the blurriness is putting me off.
(5 years and 2416 days ago)Firstly, interesting treatment. I like it. Maybe I'm being picky but shouldn't the dragons reflect on the black surface the same was the symbol does? Also - at least looking at it on my monitors - there are some grey artefacts on the black surface that shouldn't be there.
(5 years and 2418 days ago)You still have time to edit, there's also a dark line just below the pendant that shouldn't be there
(5 years and 2418 days ago)You might want to soften the edges of the camel to match the sharpness of the surrounding image.
(5 years and 2424 days ago)Also when adding shadows make the 'connection' of the two surfaces similar in darkness. i.e. the camel looks a bit like it's floating because the darkness of the shadow you made doesn't match the parts of the camel that are meant to be in contact.
The shadows are about right in strength, you just need to add that much darkness to the camel as well, or lighten it up where it's darker. If you don't understand what I mean (which wouldn't surprise me because sometimes I don't express myself very well send me a PM so I can illustrate.
PS: Just want to help!
Cute idea
