In the back is a fossilized egg from a Hadrosaur (duck-billed dinosaur, Cretaceous Period 145 to 65 million years ago) while in the front is a normal chicken egg. Most paleontologists agree that some forms of dinosaurs evolved into modern birds.

These shelves house a small part of my fossil collection. Along the top you can see (from the left) a single Wooly Mammoth tooth, about a 14 inch section of Wooly Mammoth tusk, and a whale vertabrae. On the bottom you can see about a 12 inch trilobite among other things.

My wife happens to be president of the school board, and as such she hands out the diplomas at graduation. When my son graduated, he chose that serious occasion to swoop down on his mom and give her a big, unexpected hug!
