Great approach, it's better to do a painting-like work in this case, very wise choice and nicely done. You must have nice skill of drawing with hard brush, so just participate more with drawing contests, looking forward to see you there
(5 years and 3091 days ago)He doesn't look sad LOL. You did a good job tho
(5 years and 3091 days ago)The skin is a bit too saturated but it's funny and well executed, great
(5 years and 3091 days ago)I like the overall mood of this work, especially the color and the way you made the buildings. The sky source is awesome, nice finding. Anoop is totally right about the shadow, normally people think about making shadows in the condition of directed light, but here the whole scene is very bright, everything is enlighten, so actually the shadow is not sharp and strong . I think you're already the winner of that contest, and one more thing is I realize you've already defined your own style in Pxleyes, congrats!
(5 years and 3091 days ago)I agree that you designed a cute character, but the problem is it's half realistic, half comic/painterly. I know that you're really active in giving critiques and I found them mostly accurate, but it's better to do your own works more carefully so what you said can be more convincing to other people. Please don't take it offensively, I appreciate your contributions
(5 years and 3091 days ago)I was surprised to know that the bowl texture is good for making lizard skin
(5 years and 3091 days ago)EDIT: wow, mircea found the same thing
it's very abstract
(5 years and 3091 days ago)Did he have trouble with sleeping?
(5 years and 3091 days ago)You love him, right? Even though the more realistic image is better, your drawing is cute enough in this case
(5 years and 3091 days ago)I just wish to see that cute creature more clearly. Anyway, by a careful look into that glass I can see it was made gorgeously
(5 years and 3091 days ago)I like how you made this structure with the correct perspective of the rings. No problem with the small bird, but it should be blurry as the far scene in the background and the lightning should be smaller if it attacks the bird. The yellow sparks are not really realistic, but they're acceptable IMO. Most of us here made toy-like constructions in our entries because it's hard to make them realistic, that's why we have to learn more and more. My hint is finding the real images of what you want to make and try to mimic as closely as possible, that's the way I did. Good luck to you
(5 years and 3091 days ago)Wow, I wasn't be here sooner to know this work. Marvelous! Welcome back, Mike, hope to see you bring this kind of image to the current contests!
(5 years and 3093 days ago)Mike is totally right on the ring, it's distracting.
(5 years and 3093 days ago)I see peacock, scorpion, and dragon, all at once, fantastic!
(5 years and 3093 days ago)You did a good job, and I like the bird sources. If I were you, there wouldn't be much thing I want to change, except the bow. If you consider the view angle, the source image was captured from the view angle that was close to the ground, so you just see a small upper part of the bow. But the view angle of the ground in this image is much higher, so two of them are not really fitted. And also there is not much light around, you can reduce the shadow, so the bow will be seen more clearly. Good luck, author
(5 years and 3093 days ago)Because you chose the portrait frame, the way of arranging the birds in a curve queue like this is reasonable, but on the other side, the new creature is flying into the area that limited by this curve. Regarding the idea of this piece, to me, it's a kind of incomplete transformation. How about using landscape frame? so you can arrange the birds on the left and the new creature on the right, you have wide landscape and be able to modify the two parts of the sky to fit the subjects. Just from my angle. Wish you the best of luck with this contest !
(5 years and 3093 days ago)Brilliant idea and good execution, some how the colors and subjects suggested me you're the author, and bingo! I have some suggestions for this work, even though it's really good now. Some how I feel you missed one intermediate point, this is when the bird land in the well. I had a bit difficulty to figure out what's going on and I think because of that missing part, and if you have one more creature that totally separated from the well, that will even be more fantastic. The second thing is about the composition, it's quite neat now, but you still can improve...
(5 years and 3093 days ago)Great 3D perspective, clean and sharp photo! The only problem I see is the consistence of light direction: if you see the two "arms" and "hands", the light is from the middle point of the image, behind the subject, but if you see the rest, the light is from the left side of the photo
(5 years and 3096 days ago)EDIT: wow, I was surprised to know the author, it's not your style
Nice jobs, the blending of the fire and the bow is really good. However, you can improve your photo by manipulating the background, it should be darker, without the bright sky (since your main focus is the fire, other light sources are misleading) and if possible, the background should be in cold tones such as blue, so your focus will be enhanced. Good luck, author!
(5 years and 3098 days ago)Author, your flames were made in the wrong way. Just remember images like this one http://www.deviantart.com/download/106640611/The_Flame_by_AuTuMn_Lee.jpg
(5 years and 3098 days ago)Normally, the fire is brighter close to the source of the fire where the heat is maximum. So, from the center, the order of colors should be white --> yellow --> red. Sometimes you see the blue colors, it means something was burned more efficient, so more heat is released (more than white fire).
Hope that this helps and good luck with the contest!
EDIT: Yes, at least it's correct now!
Congrats Matteo !!!
(5 years and 3098 days ago)Congrats Arca, it is one of the best dragons ever made in Pxleyes
(5 years and 3098 days ago)Congrats my friend!
(5 years and 3098 days ago)Well done, many details you put in, as good as always. Best of luck to you!
(5 years and 3101 days ago)Congrats SOLARIS, the raising power on Pxleyes, keep it up !!
(5 years and 3105 days ago)Congrats my friend, very nice work ^^
(5 years and 3105 days ago)Congrats Chalty!!
(5 years and 3105 days ago)Congrats Jade, and double congrats for the place of the highest scoring entry
(5 years and 3105 days ago)Congrats ^^
(5 years and 3118 days ago)Congrats SOLARIS!
(5 years and 3118 days ago)Congrats!
(5 years and 3118 days ago)Looks good in Low-res, it's the most realistic image in this competition. I just 2 suggestions for you: (1) when you make the water splash, you can refer to the real one in the source that you used. The splash on the sea is blurred, not as clear as the one you made. From that distance, we almost can't see that splashes. (2) the composition: actually lower halve of the image has nothing to do, there is no information there. If the tail of the monster is seen on the bottom left of the image and you crop more tightly (the right side), your composition will be better.
(5 years and 3121 days ago)Good luck, author!
Congrats my friend. What an amazing score you got! very well deserved!
(5 years and 3154 days ago)I doubted that this account was created by you, but since you provided the sources, which no one can find except you, I believe in who you are. Welcome to our site, we always welcome talents like you. About your work itself, it's full of uniqueness from idea to execution, it's beautiful aesthetically. However, if you plan to join more contests, it's better to create something new, so your identity can't be foreseen (that's very critical here) and people will appreciate and respect you even more.
(5 years and 3168 days ago)Best of luck to you!
Congrats IDt8r!
(5 years and 3174 days ago)Congrats Stowsk, I wanna see more this kind of entry
(5 years and 3174 days ago)Congrats buddy, you're well deserved!
(5 years and 3174 days ago)Congrats samanway for the third place!
(5 years and 3174 days ago)Congrats dekwid, well done!
(5 years and 3174 days ago)Except the point that the fire looks 2D and quite dim as samanway mentioned, the rest of your image looks good to me. Good luck author!
(5 years and 3176 days ago)Is this the new version of Angry birds ?
(5 years and 3178 days ago)Good work. I suggest to make the ground between him and the castles more blurred, I still can see the discontinuous area right under the castle. Good luck author
(5 years and 3178 days ago)Seems like you really like horoscope, this one reminds me one of your previous works. Cool chop! However, I have to complain one thing. My sign, Gemini, should be an identical twin hehe
(5 years and 3178 days ago)Still your style of chopping but with totally fresh theme, it rocks! Very funny indeed
(5 years and 3178 days ago)I love the small one, it looks very unique. Just a tiny suggestion, you might use less grainess level when you apply the grain filter to the whole image, in Hi-Res it's a bit too noisy. Good luck, author!
(5 years and 3178 days ago)This is nice construction in overall and the colors are really similar to "terminator" mood. However, I have some suggestions for you: (1) Why is the right arm illuminated? I don't find any light source for it, so it should be dark; and (2) It's good that you concern the DOF by blurring the rear part of the robot but in this case, the scene behind it should be blurred to the same level or more.
(5 years and 3179 days ago)Good luck to you, your entry is very competitive.
EDIT: Yes, it's better now, at least we can assume the light source is far away so we can't see it
I love this image, very cute, lighting scheme really works. If there is a contest about me, I'll be like teddy bear lol. And interestingly, I found Eve in front of the monitor, I like this character.
(5 years and 3183 days ago)I realize the right hand of the male robot now, I used the same one in one of my work
(5 years and 3188 days ago)Congrats buddy for your dominant places. I want to join and have fun but I couldn't. Someday, maybe
(5 years and 3189 days ago)Congrats, very well done
