The focus is definitely on the sun. Author, a nice picture as this one may be, you should have saved it for another contest, of-course always IMHO.

You should have straighten the horizon. And I'm not sure that, even it's a nice shot, the focus is on the reflected light.

I would crop this a lot closer.
