If the dog were just a bit softer on the edges and darker in the background it would help a bit. Nice use of the source image. I like how you completely took the 'dice' out of the element and created something new.
(5 years and 2921 days ago)hahahahahaha...funny work...gl

(5 years and 3236 days ago)Great work on the left eye, the eybrow flows in sync with nose and eye of cat. Love it! Nice blending, good luck author!

(5 years and 3237 days ago)yes, he looks like "just caught", not "just married"
(5 years and 3238 days ago)He should be smiling........
(5 years and 3238 days ago)IMO use one eye or the other, not both. Good blend, though.
(5 years and 3238 days ago)this is very difficult to look at author.. it's making my skin crawl.. in every direction.. WOO HOOO.. instant fav.. (EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKK)
(5 years and 3238 days ago)AWESOME JOB
The first rain, I like that, the raindrops are a bit hard to see though. There is some more work in those drops to let them stand out more.
(5 years and 3243 days ago)Cool idea, somehow reminds me of the architecture in Dubai.
(5 years and 3244 days ago)appreciate the work!!! good luck
(5 years and 3245 days ago)Not sure if it's intentional or not, but you have a brown outline at the top of each building. If you remove those and soften the edge a bit it would help. Nice image and great imagination too.
(5 years and 3245 days ago)As Drivenslush has already pointed out, the lighting on half of your image is wrong. When considering making a realistic style image such as this, lighting is important. Check out this valuable tutorial: http://www.psdbox.com/tutorials/manipulation-secrets-3-shading-and-lighting/
(5 years and 3246 days ago)Excellent tenacity .. wish you major luck
(5 years and 3246 days ago)very interesting concept...construction is well made and as Ernest sad i will to remove orange stroke...best of luck
(5 years and 3246 days ago)very nice work author...this is really Van Gogh style...best of luck
(5 years and 3246 days ago)this is a pretty neat idea author.. way out of the box.... you may want to try and get rid of that orangy red stroke line around the top... it defeats the realism a bit (IMHO).. you may also want to reverse the burn dodge on one of the towers so that the shading matches the angle of light (it's not really that important, but I've noticed if you don't correct the lighting on a subject many members have a snit)
(5 years and 3246 days ago)Good luck.. and great idea..
This actually made me laugh out loud. Very funny indeed.
(5 years and 3251 days ago)AUTHOR!!!! give him away in your SBS NOT in your entry... it would be like finding Waldo.. hehehee.. *Just a suggestion... very nice work by the way).. hehehe.. the picture would be fun to look at as a jungle shot and then.. Holy CRAP! look at that...
(5 years and 3252 days ago)Great job overall
very good dark contrast the waves is just incredible. good work
(5 years and 3253 days ago)If it was up to me I would scrap the background and use the original background of the dog. I would expand the background a bit horizontally and finish the base of the hydrant and place it in the background. Making sure to match the depth of field to the surrounding area where the hydrant is placed. Good luck!
(5 years and 3254 days ago)I respect the effect you were trying to achieve, but rather see step five as the finished entry. I would just create a new layer, fill it with black, set the blend mode to color dodge, and then with a soft white 5% opacity brush paint where you want light. Painting over brighter areas with more brush strokes. Then I would create a new layer fill it with a brown color and set the layer blend mode to color and set the opacity of the layer around 25%. This will give you a more dramatic scene. good luck!
(5 years and 3254 days ago)I am with CMYK on this one
(5 years and 3255 days ago)You can get inspired from it, but not use it or reproduce it, since it's copyrighted.
(5 years and 3255 days ago)I posted it so that you can see the proportions, mood, lighting & how an entry should look.
The lighthouse is your MAIN so it would be better to be more detailed and occupy more space, for starters.
You can search for lighthouses on sxc, you should find plenty of shapes and environments to enspire you there.
You can edit your entry if you want to improve it My stuff-My contest entries.
There you have it: the 3 "you can"s. :P
Idea is nice and images fits together but u could make it even better...Blur is still to big IMHO, and u should work on that a bit more...As for the dog,use small smudge brush ,strength around 80 to create basic fur on hard edges part...be free and loos your hand when u do that...then u will get the best result. After basic fur play a bit with the size of the brush to make fur even more realistic. Now is good but with few adjustments this could be very very good entry...best of luck
(5 years and 3255 days ago)The brickpattern can barelly be seen, if you decide to make it more visible warp it to fit the form.
(5 years and 3255 days ago)Use some reference to help you with the entry:

dog hair edges have green color no need that, beter same background color.
(5 years and 3256 days ago)[only edges]
Very pretty.
(5 years and 3256 days ago)Don't blur the hydrant, blur the dog just a bit.
(5 years and 3257 days ago)Author I think you should give the hydrant the same blur as the dog, they are about at the same depth in the image. Another tip for the dogs hair: they look a bit hard edged... maybe try if this works: open a new layer on top, select a small blur brush (3 or 4 pixels) then check "select all layers" on top in PS and go over the edges of the hair. You'll see they'll blend much nicer that way, it's worth the time you put in it.
(5 years and 3257 days ago)But it's up to you, it's your image.
nice chop but the blur doesn't really work for me...gl..
(5 years and 3257 days ago)cool fairy's in the eye...i have that only when i am drinking absinthe, but they are green then...lol...best of luck author
(5 years and 3259 days ago)Congrats for 3rd
(5 years and 3263 days ago)Congrats...
(5 years and 3263 days ago)Congratulations!!!!! Great job!
(5 years and 3263 days ago)very nice work author...love the concept with pictures....gl
(5 years and 3264 days ago)nice piece...gl
(5 years and 3264 days ago)looks much better gl
(5 years and 3264 days ago)All they need is a little shadow under their feet. Love the larger rat ear in the lower left image, but wouldn't that also be there on the center image before it? Otherwise, very nice transformation!
(5 years and 3265 days ago)The edges on the cat need to be softened so it will blend in better.
