This is cute author but that umbrella is a shoot through not a reflective, I think you should educate your bear a bit more on the basics of lighting if you expect him to be a successful portrait photographer.

Very nice author, I like the framing quite a bit. One suggestion though, I would add just a bit more light on the sides, not sure what your setup was but it would certainly benefit this shot to have a bit more of the wings showing.

I think it falls off just fine, look at the stem of the flower for example. Or how the front petals are more in focus than the back. Great job Author.

I think every one of you who made a negative comment about this should be ashamed of yourselves. Every single one of you has posted a shot that has been overdone, is this original? No probably not but that doesn't mean it's a bad photograph. I've said it before and I'll say it again how many shots of waterdroplets on flowers do we still get that win contests, or b&w shots on a black background? If your not going to give constructive criticism then don't comment at all. One person was bad enough but 3 people!?!? And two of you are top members to boot. You should know better. If it doesn't wow you, or you thinks its to overdone fine you are certainly entitled to your own opinion but keep it to yourself, comments like that have no place here.

Author, please don't take offense. ibmaxed is just trying to help, he's right the contest guidelines ask for a black and white photo of a chair. Since there is some color here it's technically not black and white. To make sure this wonderful entry doesn't get pulled you should probably convert it to grayscale.

It means to look twice

It's been a while since an entry on here made me go WOW, but this one definitely does. The idea behind this is great, the composition is perfect, the capture is spot on, and a huge plus for me is the beautiful lighting. You've done a truly remarkable job here author. The only thing that I would recommend would be to run it through a noise filter, but that's just nitpicking

It can't be real MnM, if a nail were driven into a hand from the back like this then the blood pattern would not be going up the nail like it is! LOL or perhaps I might be over analyzing this?
