Surreal is one thing. Poor technical execution is another. This is a competition, and your concept is a good one, but the obvious light direction will hurt you more than help you, regardless your excuses to try to justify it.

Two suns would CLEARLY show two light directions on the subjects, NOT opposing light reflections on one object (the island AND the pot). Likewise, the sky would show two light sources...

As CMYK stated, it's easy enough to reverse the island to make it read better. To try to justify such a poor choice as "it's surreal" will probably cost you more points than you would have gained had you corrected it.

Just fix the light (flip the stuff in the pot) and it will be fine. Not so hard to do...

Author, it's sad indeed to hear you have to leave an island paradise, but the light source on the trees is opposite the light on the pot. Best of luck to you!

you forgot a space between her fingers when you were doing the masking! there is a tiny bit of white between them.

(sometimes it takes a little intelligence to get past the "assets" displayed. )

great entry but i wish the sky behind nyc matched the sky in the bridge photo

i think it was better before, it looked like some kind of perception(not memories) and was more original.

I believe the idea is that she captures the landscape in her mind.
Man, that's a brave concept and I don't know how i would have done it better, except for Not using the plastic wrap & other filters on her face.
I would also make the composition so that her eye is at 1/3rd of the image and not right in the center.
Add an overlay on the background to enhance colors and desaturate just a bit (maybe also blur) the image in her head! After-all memories are not clear, you can't remember all the details of an image unless you're an autistic.

Fantastic work author...really really great usage of the source images...Eyeball is top notch...extra and more extra points for that...IMHO mouth in the lower right corner are to much...they create small distraction and they do not contribute to the image...but maybe is just my impression...any how love this entry and goes straight to my fav gallery...best of luck
