Nice choice of white balance for this shot (the blue cast gives it a sad, lonely emotion that goes well with the abandoned scenery). Great work!
(5 years and 3254 days ago)Excellent idea and wonderful DOF. Is there any way we can see a high res, though? If not, its still a great picture. All the best!
(5 years and 3254 days ago)Reminds me of a speaker with sound waves blasting out from it. I particularly like the earthy tones you used with your wires (gives it an almost retro feel IMO). Nice work, and great way to kick off the contest!
(5 years and 3254 days ago)Excellent capture and use of natural lighting. The clarity in this picture is pretty remarkable. Great job!
(5 years and 3257 days ago)Click on "My Stuff" in your menu bar, then "My Contest Entries." Click on "Edit Entry" underneath the entry you want to change. Hope this helps!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Great shot; I love the expression in your cat's face. The black/white background compliments her as well. Good luck!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Ah, lol my mistake. Sorry about that!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Absolutely love this shot. The clarity, the color, the framing...it's perfect. Very well done, author.
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Grats on first!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Grats on first!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Love the negative space on the left side of the image. The colors are very strong as well. Not sure I like the softness of the mother's hand in contrast with the rest of the image, but that's just nitpicking. Very very nicely done, author. All the best!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)I agree with every Mad said. Nice entry!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Cute kitty! There is a pretty bad blue cast on this though; any chance you can remove it and resubmit? I think that'll really help the photo. Still, best of luck to you!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)I love the expression of the cat on the bottom. Its like he's saying "Wow! I really didn't think I was going to see this today!" Great picture! In the future I would clean up your area a bit though (the random magazine/packing list on the floor clutters it up somewhat). GL!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)I like this shot, but I'd crop it in more on the right (or let it out some on the left). Right now the kitty looks a bit unbalanced. Still, great picture!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)This capture is perfect. I wouldn't change a thing. Great work, author!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)The background colors and pattern match your kitty nicely. Great clarity, too. I dare say this is the best photo I've seen of yours! Great job.
(5 years and 3258 days ago)"You lookin at me? YOU LOOKIN' AT ME? I'm the only one here, so you MUST be lookin at me..."
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Nice capture.
I love the red color your kitty is laying against, I just wish it had a different texture (something softer). But still...that cat is just so...damn...CUTE. I can't stop staring at it!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Picture is a bit soft in the High Res but I LOVE the low angle and the humor is top notch! Friendly note: I'd remove the border from the picture as they are not allowed in Photography contests. I'd hate for this to get removed. Good luck!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Great idea, but the cat is a little soft (no pun intended). Not sure if this is because of the magnifying glass or just how the shot came out, but I'd experiment a bit further to see if you can get a crisper image out of it. In any event, I do like the color (particularly those green eyes) and you have an excellent DOF. All the best!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Love the vibrant colors in this (it reminds me of Akira or Bladerunner). GL!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Excellent subject matter! That is one of the neatest looking buildings I've ever seen (aside from the Guggenheim museum). Only critique is that the high res is somewhat noisy and there could stand to be a SLIGHT bit more contrast (that's just nitpicking though). Good luck to you!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)This looks a bit more retro/steampunk than futuristic to me. Could just be my personal opinion, though. I do like the creativity you took with this and the angle you chose works very well. GL!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Your work gets better and better every week, author. Well done.
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Great expression on their faces! The picture does have a bit of a yellowish-green cast to it though; was this intentional? I think it'd look much better in either B/W or utilizing a more traditional color palette. Still, nice work! All the best.
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Looks like something I'd see on a Hallmark commercial. Great job.
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Excellent framing and nice choice for a background. There may be a little too much red/magenta in the boy's face though; I'd fix that and resubmit. Still, great shot!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Cute kittens.
(5 years and 3258 days ago)This is an amazing shot. The DOF, the subject, and most importantly the tones are all spot on. You've got just enough contrast to make it look great without going too "cartoony" and overblown. Great work, author.
(5 years and 3258 days ago)Love the saturation in the bricks and the subject matter is definitely interesting. Kudos on asking permission! All the best.
(5 years and 3258 days ago)I LOVE the idea of a scavenger hunt in this picture. I'm actually kind of bummed I didn't think of it first. :P Photo-wise its an excellent shot and I agree that the DOF is great. Nice job!
(5 years and 3258 days ago)I love that you've included what settings you used to make this photo. Good job keeping the clipping down as well (something I have a hard time doing when shooting snow). If you adjust the horizon line to lay flat instead of at an angle I'd say this picture will look even better! That's just personal preference though; it looks great even on its own. GL!
(5 years and 3259 days ago)Great capture! I kinda wish it had a higher depth of field so we can see the flowers a bit more clearly, but even as it is I like it a lot. GL!
(5 years and 3259 days ago)I agree with Kyricom, if you play with the curves a bit and bump up the shadows this could be even better than it is now. Might even go all the way to 11. Great capture!
(5 years and 3259 days ago)Excellent choice for your focal point and I love how green and lush everything looks. I'd rotate the horizon line just a bit though so that it lays flat and not on an angle. Even without that, however, I really like this shot! All the best.
(5 years and 3259 days ago)I love the subject matter of this shot and I think the angle and clarity of the picture are both top notch! Still, I'd focus on the flowers in the foreground rather than the grain stalks to give the picture more character. Awesome land though, your family must be proud.
(5 years and 3259 days ago)Nice hills and I love the area you shot in. Kinda wish you were closer to the action though. :P Still, great shot!
(5 years and 3259 days ago)I'm curious about that myself. Great job!
(5 years and 3259 days ago)That does look better than the original! And dont' worry, we've all been there (losing a disc/RAW files). Hope you find it! GL
(5 years and 3260 days ago)Love the low angle and the background you chose to shoot against. The subject could stand to have a little fill light in his face, but thats more personal preference and nitpicking than anything else. Nice job!
(5 years and 3260 days ago)I personally like this image in B/W. Gives it a more regal and elegant look.
(5 years and 3260 days ago)This shot is near perfect. The colors, the setting, the model...all fantastic! Great job as always, author.
(5 years and 3261 days ago)lol I meant that as a compliment, so you're welcome.
(5 years and 3261 days ago)Reminds me of Dr. Insano. Great job as always!
(5 years and 3261 days ago)Nice! You might want to try taking one with a higher Depth of Field next time just to compare, but this one works well. Good luck!
(5 years and 3261 days ago)Awww, she's a sweetie.
(5 years and 3261 days ago)Excellent job panning this photo. Only thing I'd suggest is removing the blue cast (most evident near the front of the plane). Still, great job!
(5 years and 3261 days ago)Love the position you took when you shot this and the subject matter is great (I've never been fly fishing but I've always been fly curious). I'd rotate the picture a bit though so that the horizon line lays flat and not on an angle. All the best!
(5 years and 3261 days ago)Love how the stairs remind you of DNA. Great capture! I wouldn't have cropped it in so tightly, though (the left side of the staircase is being cut out of the picture). Still, great job! Where are these stairs located, anyway?
