Alot of good entries in this contest... this one is very cute and sad at the same time, if I'm reading the right message. Excellent concept!

Not that I'd call this cute (seeing the message behind it), but well done put together. Your decision to use a filter can fit well with the concept, I'd recommend you to use that for èverything in the image, so also the highlight for the eyes (which is a total different style and imo not really part of the rest). So cute. Looks like Goldie Hawn in Private Benjamin. Only problem is that the highlights on the eyes should be in the same spot. E.g. if you put the highlight on the upper left corner of her left eye, it should be in the upper left corner of her right eye, too. The highlights should be the same size, too. Other than that, I love the texture that you added to her face. Very cute. I'll hold my vote until you fix the highlights.

It's good but much more could be done with the background.

It looks good, i reccomend adding a shadow around the frame, just to make it look more like it's on the wall. I would also add a shadow under the plant (just a little one) because right now it looks too pasted on. Good luck!

Kudos for changing the male to female..I would add a bit of variants to the potted plant (more light grays... the color in the portrait is a difficult thing to balance because of the saturation) I feel you need something below to draw the eye down.. but thats just me... very well done

I know I know.. the title is Painting.. but I'm thinking of how I would have to work my butt off to show this properly in decor situation (and whoa NELLY... I'd use this in a TON of situations as a fantastic accent)

Funny image. In case you already put some shadow on the engine, I'd recommend to add some more. Especially on the left side and top of the engine. Nitpick suggestion to soften the edges from the toolbox a bit. Good luck!

a small suggestion...duplicate the layer...then with the pen tool trace around the inside of the hole, around the motor..select, delete..then add a shadow on that layer...this will cast a small shadow on the engine
