I would have cropped the blown out sky. Our eyes are naturally drawn to the brightest part of the image and with the crop it would have directed them 'through the tunnel'.

I see your point, author, and I think it works well.
In the future though you may want to describe such things in the picture's description. It isn't required (unless specifically stated in the contest guidelines) but may help you get a better score from members who would be otherwise confused as to your meaning. All the best!

Great advice, friiskiwi. While not always the case, upload a high res DOES increase your chances of getting a higher vote from some users. Trialboj has a good idea as well; that splotchy green backdrop looks like its stained with something. Hope this helps! All the best!

Although the surroundings are dark, I wouldn't say your main subject focus is black.

It would be good if you uploaded a higher res of you images, voting is likely to be higher. If your images are very bid you can always reduce them a little before uploading.
