Yeah, that's kind of creepy... but you're right. It IS colorful

a nice water photo. try a faster shutter speed and a lower f stop to minimize the depth of field, so it puts more focus on the rowers' and the event. It would also help stop the water coming off the paddles which would be a great way to show "action" nice shot of the rowers and their boat. thanks for sharing

If you stare at this closely in hi-res, the logs start to move around.

You have oblivious given some thought to this photo, but I suggest you reshoot. Try to get the whole of the scales in the image. I'm not sure the mirror makes the best background, at least not when it's only reflecting a small part of the scales. Good Luck
