(4 years and 218 days ago)I knew it was you! Only you and few others...
Great ! Congrats Patty 😊
(5 years and 165 days ago)well done patty
(5 years and 166 days ago)Yes, I use Photomatix also and also Nik software for HDR....so much out there now. By the way, the flight from Rome to Bangkok is about 9 hours! We are waiting for you. (Chiang Mai is another hour flight north)
(5 years and 178 days ago)Your high dynamic range is well worked and gives the image depth without that "overcooked" feel (which some of us love). What EV exposure did you use? The pundits recommend a +2EV and -2EV. And what software did you use to blend your images? You are lucky to be living here inside a living museum. I loved Rome and the people were wonderful to us....we must go back there one of these days while we are still on this side of the grass

(5 years and 178 days ago)Nice
(5 years and 181 days ago)Very nice. I might've cropped a little more closely
(5 years and 181 days ago)I like the abstract feel of this image, it makes my imagination bloom.
(5 years and 182 days ago)What a sad face. I like how the fish is sharp with good usage of dof calibration on your part.
(5 years and 185 days ago)grande patty ...
(5 years and 187 days ago)Congrats!
(5 years and 187 days ago)My husband is sitting here with a cup of coffee and he saw your photo and said "hey that is a nice flower". There you have two reviews for the price of one!
(5 years and 199 days ago)A shy and humble rose ...this photo really has a personality.
(5 years and 199 days ago)I love the exposure on this photo...you have nailed the white detail without blowing it out. Nice work.
(5 years and 199 days ago)It is the bokeh that elevates this image. Lovely.
(5 years and 199 days ago)Very nice shot!
(5 years and 204 days ago)Congrats Patty!
(5 years and 306 days ago)I like the gentle sepia on this, had you put in more it would have ruined the atmospheric delight of this image. Good marginal space all around, sharp and non-obtrusive background.
(5 years and 309 days ago)How the old gets emphasised with sepia. It has at once a welcoming feel and a dreary and gloomy feel to the structure. Nice tonal quality too.
(5 years and 309 days ago)thumbs up for this entry...I can almost feel the cool vapors of waterfall cooling me down. I also like that you have kept the 'human' touch in the shot and did not crop down.
(5 years and 311 days ago)A nice a sharp image with rainbow clearly seen. You do have a dust spot on your sensor (the bane of all photographers)...it is dead center in the sky.
(5 years and 311 days ago)Beautiful picture congrats !
(5 years and 327 days ago)Creative and educational (for me)....thank you. Congrats!
(5 years and 334 days ago)Hmmm somewhere in Europe, let me guess Bucharest or Budapest or Rome...I'm sure I was here. Too bad everyone is looking away but it sure is colourful and has that festive feel to the image.
(5 years and 335 days ago)I like the way the reflections of the colors get flipped horizontally by the front glass. Fascinating and very artistic.
(5 years and 336 days ago)I enjoy your photography very much, find it inspirational and something I can learn from....so THANK YOU!
(5 years and 339 days ago)I am smiling for I can see you taking this shot....we have all stood under such magnificence and have tried to accomplish the same as you have. I like that the exposure is smack on the money and tightly cropped as you managed just pulls us in like a moth to fire. Lovely.
(5 years and 340 days ago)Great photo !!
(5 years and 341 days ago)Well done, and I do believe I've seen this technique before and it is inspirational.
(5 years and 342 days ago)Colorfull and like the reflection, you have put some thought into this one
(5 years and 343 days ago)Now that's what you call a ceiling
(5 years and 343 days ago)Congrats on this win !
(5 years and 348 days ago)Oh Capri, instantly we think of romance. A beautifully caught image in hues of blue, sharp, well exposed. A postcard kind of photograph. Have you been to the Blue Grotto?
(5 years and 350 days ago)Nicely set up this image, simple yet strong with good exposure. All you need is chocolate !
(5 years and 350 days ago)I love Italy and this sign with all those delicious words makes me want to return....if only to eat!
(5 years and 352 days ago)Mirko, I choose Mirko. What a great find this was for this contest. Your upload makes the viewer really read the words and so it has that "linger longer" aspect to holding us.
(5 years and 352 days ago)I'm coming.....let's have a nice espresso at a cafe together!
(5 years and 352 days ago)Clear and crisp offering a breath of fresh air. I viewed this in the high res and was blown away by the dof you had used bringing in everything sharply. I was going to mention the trees on the left showed clipping with loss of detail THAT IS NOT SO WHEN VIEWED IN HIGH RES....in high res this image is simply perfect. What a great way to start off this contest. Makes me want to go and visit the Dolomites and this lake area. You are fortunate to have captured this...nice one.
(5 years and 352 days ago)You make it sound so easy
(5 years and 353 days ago)This is my kind of photo following the KISS principle to a t! Crop has been thought out as has been composition.
(5 years and 354 days ago)I like the way you set up this still life, looks like you put a lot of work into it to find those red crystal hearts to match the Baci box. DOF is well used to help pop out the main focal point and the "back up singers" are there softly supporting. I wonder if a bit more contrast would have punched this out a bit more?....but most likely you were gunning for a soft feel.
(5 years and 354 days ago)Don't leave brah. You're a cool dude.
(5 years and 355 days ago)Ahem Rob.....a discussion was started on the forum and the membership is still waiting for a reply.
(5 years and 355 days ago)Discussion ....open! ..........on the forum.
#LifetimeDamage: Don't take everything so literal (sigh), the modcomment is about making changes to parts of the entry not about giving tips.
(5 years and 355 days ago)If you disagree with this rule we can always discuss that.
If you want to leave then leave in dignity and do NOT call people names.
Another rule we have: do not start discussions on entries: we have a forum for that.
Discussion closed!
Fred, you just cannot leave this site which is already about as exciting as a cold wet mashed potato sandwich, but your comments and your photography are helpful, appreciated and the images you post inspire others to try some of the out of the box stuff you put up. I think the moderator was just trying to do his/her job as best as they could and forgot that software will not allow selective editing that is all. I'm with Zizounai on this issue.
(5 years and 356 days ago)Oh please Fred don't go!!! If I don't comment as often as I should, I always appreciate the things you do, your photos, your comments, and above all your chops on the Ps side...
(5 years and 356 days ago)To the mods, I think that even in traditional silver print you can play with the color settings...
Ok. .. this is straight goodbye for me now. If giving tips is prohibited in this site. There is no more reason to come here and share. Assholes
