ummmm, that advice may (or may not) make the photo better, but it'd be against the rules for photo entries.
(5 years and 357 days ago)Oh Gosh, he looks like Trevor Noah and she's beautiful. I love the glow you have put on this photo it suits it very much.
(5 years and 357 days ago)Told you....huh....didn't I ????? Big Congrats.
(5 years and 361 days ago)another big congrats...and on number three too !
(5 years and 361 days ago)Bravo bravo bravo Patty
(5 years and 362 days ago)Congrats Patty for winning with all four
(5 years and 362 days ago)Congratulations on winning all top 4 places Patty. Excellent.
(5 years and 362 days ago)Congrats on a clean sweep
(5 years and 363 days ago)Your're welcome
(5 years and 363 days ago)Like it.. good point of view.. only the bright sky is not bright.
(5 years and 363 days ago)If you put it in photoshop with the "replace color" tool.
and put the colorpicker on the sky.
change the hue on +2. ( it is a tiny bit on the green side of blue)
The Saturation on +40 and Lightness on +10.. if you keep the fuzziness around 100, your sky is back on being a sunny day.. just a tip.. see what you do with it.
Nice shot
(5 years and 364 days ago)Y'know the majority of the men in the photo club are just men, old, many are old professional photographers and old school. So it is tough to be the only woman presenting another opinion. sigh.
(5 years and 365 days ago)Hmmm but this is not your conventional kind of splash and that separates it from the crowd...sort of an "out of the box" presentation which is oh so refreshing.
(5 years and 365 days ago)I know in our photo club the members are always yapping about "the lean" and how to correct it and I always squirm in my seat because it is the lean of this photograph that makes it so good. The power and strength of the Pantheon juxtaposed against us small people is just splendid. Good tonal range as well!
(5 years and 366 days ago)Would cropping in help that somewhat I wonder?
(5 years and 366 days ago)Ahhh, yes I know there is a whole technique to this and you have it mastered. Nice one.
(5 years and 366 days ago)Colour always touches us carbon bi-peds on an emotional level and for me purple together with pink hues brings back so many memories (my graduation bouquet was purple and pink is one of those memories) . OK I know you have blue too....never mind.
(5 years and 367 days ago)I love the crop and the full focus on the splash and the one globe up there breaking away and making such a strong statement. Really a great upload, and at our eye level. It would be wonderful to learn how to do this.
If this one doesn't win I will eat my lens cap!....so there.
A very "yummy" upload which I find soft on the eyes (meaning it is kind to my visual perception). Feminine colours and a crop that shows us from whence this splash was born. I think your contrast is well done as is the exposure on this piece. You will do well I''m sure of this!
(5 years and 367 days ago)It's the top of the shelf work! Looks like a splash, feels like a splash and love the unusual colour palette especially those touches of blood red. I wonder how long it took you to get this one just so right?
(5 years and 367 days ago)Great splash
(5 years and 371 days ago)Very artistic little watery mushroom. I like the gradient background too. Is it colored paper or colored lights?
(5 years and 371 days ago)Wow, someones lucky enough to have a speedlight. Nice work.
(5 years and 371 days ago)I think you may have a colour cast on this. Did you try to eliminate that, yes it would be allowed in contest rules as that action affects the entire image. Just a suggestion!
(5 years and 375 days ago)Bravo Patty
(5 years and 376 days ago)WOW blue water, did you throw in the blue dye? Very serene and picturesque.
(5 years and 376 days ago)Congrats Patty
(5 years and 376 days ago)Congrats
(5 years and 377 days ago)Very nice
(5 years and 382 days ago)The chromatic aberration is still apparent on the edges of the trees. I tried the link that skkyangel provided and the only one that worked for me was the clone the edges technique. I think this would work for your image too. A good photograph with considered compositional style and cropping.
(5 years and 382 days ago)Naw then you lose the mountain which adds considerably to the story.
(5 years and 383 days ago)Your welcome,it might work or maybe not
(5 years and 383 days ago)good use of perspective in this
(5 years and 383 days ago)well scenic photo, think I would crop a tad of the sky to downgrade that brightness
(5 years and 383 days ago)Hope you did not get dizzy taking this, wll clear photo and looks interesting
(5 years and 383 days ago)Simple but effective this
(5 years and 383 days ago)I actually think its fine as it is,and a simple enough idea in getting this, but works
(5 years and 383 days ago)Funny enough I also think a cigarette would have given this a story, and a glass that was nearly finished,as if somebody had just left in a hurry, but still well spotted in getting this.
(5 years and 383 days ago)arrrrrggghhhh I was wrong...a happy snappy shot! Good eyes.
(5 years and 383 days ago)hmmmm will have to look at the "rules" again. I'm getting confused with post processing contest.
(5 years and 383 days ago)An ND filter will change your life, it is so much fun especially with running water. Try using your polarized sunglasses over your lens for another cool effect. f7.1 huh? I was close... Thank you.
(5 years and 383 days ago)Sometimes we as viewers can see when a photo was snapped and when a photo was made. You made this shot, set it up nicely giving a good story. The only thing missing is a lit cigarette in the ashtray BUT BUT BUT ...that is a very personal thought on my part! ha Lovely with good dof manipulation.
(5 years and 383 days ago)This shows a great deal of creativity and your composition with gift as main focus is strong. I feel the crop and "visual weight" is well considered meaning you gave ample punch to the diffused background but still kept us focused on the story of your image. Very nicely done. I would brighten the bow a bit more so that it sparkles ...dodge to brighten. Lovely festive colour palette too! A strong contender.
(5 years and 383 days ago)I just watched your link Skyangel, it is very good and I have bookmarked it. Thank you.
(5 years and 383 days ago)A path that beckons as it winds beyond. If you had highlighted (by using a ND filter) that bright sky to bring in the clouds it would be a stronger image, but that is just me. I'm wondering what your dof was....f8? ...the interior is soft. I attended a lecture and the presenter said that f13 is the best aperture to use for landscapes as there is no peripheral distortion. A very welcoming path.
(5 years and 383 days ago)Oh, I can see your husband/wife/partner hanging onto your ankles as you dangle to get this shot. Not only is the pov great but your tonal values are really well done with no blowouts on the bright aspects (the rocks below). The compositional style is strong and your technical is well handled. Lovely.
(5 years and 383 days ago)The trees make a lovely shady arch over the road.
(5 years and 384 days ago)You have a lot of chromatic aberation in this photo.
This tut shows you how to get rid of it...

Interesting perspective. Looks like you were flying while taking this photo.
(5 years and 384 days ago)Congrats Patty
(5 years and 390 days ago)Well done Patty for this
(5 years and 390 days ago)Congrats Patty, this one was a wonderful shot.
