Interesting nose on your version, author - clearly modern technology.
(5 years and 3322 days ago)Nice smooth lines on this, I like the stealth look of this 'copter.
(5 years and 3322 days ago)I don't know very much about 3D but I sure like the look of the material you used and the glow on the nose. The background completes the image. Very nice work, author.
(5 years and 3322 days ago)What do I think? Author, this is UBER cool work! I think you should do more of this style work! I love the colors, the feel and definitely those metal panels and 'screws' as you call them, tho they look like rivets to me. Those tubes look translucent, which somehow adds to the creepy-steampunk look, which I love.
(5 years and 3322 days ago)And Space Ranger, I had to look up HRGiger...... whoa!
That is so weird! (in a good way ) How did you come up with the idea for your step 4? Pretty cool concept and interesting colors for this, author, nice surrealism!
(5 years and 3323 days ago)And that's one fugly fish, too! Would like to see that goiter removed, but otherwise, good blending, coloring and ear surgery on the kitty's face.
(5 years and 3323 days ago)Somehow, this eye looks sad, but still quite beautiful work. Great talent, author!
(5 years and 3324 days ago)Gorgeous work! I also love that blue/green version.
(5 years and 3324 days ago)LOL, funny! I like your command of the scientific Latin nomenclature.
(5 years and 3324 days ago)Cool info and creepy image author, good work. Great depth of field shown between the sphere and tree and the raven and girl. Nice final touch with that red eye on the raven!
(5 years and 3325 days ago)This is hilarious, author, a great idea, however there are a couple of nitpicks - somehow the Civil War emblems on his pants don't go with pirate attire, IMHO. And yes, agree his gun should probably be slung in his belt. JamesD, those 'poles' are called masts, and the squirrel must be on a different ship, so agree that the ship in the distance could be moved to the right a bit, and maybe reduced in size to see more of it. Moving the ship would also take that flag away from Jack's nose. Lots of humor points here, author and great mood.
(5 years and 3327 days ago)Congrats on 2nd for your adorable Bear Factory!
(5 years and 3327 days ago)OMG, someone sent me a series of shots of this London Eye - it's incredible! Little squirrel is not so little, and he sure better hold on tight, that thing is HUGE!!! Could use a little shadow under his feet and paws, I'll wait to vote.
(5 years and 3327 days ago)Show us hi-res!!!
Congrats on 1st place for your Raven, great image and subdued colors.
(5 years and 3327 days ago)Congrats on 2nd for your Froggy, Cornelia, beautiful work as always.
(5 years and 3327 days ago)Very well done, congrats on 1st place for Thief!
(5 years and 3327 days ago)Congrats, Arca, awesome chop!!
(5 years and 3327 days ago)OMG, author, this is outrageously creative!!! and you don't name your layers??!!!!
(5 years and 3328 days ago)Your original pattern is a beautiful piece of art all by itself! Interesting incorporation into this project.
(5 years and 3328 days ago)Very nice design, well done, author.
(5 years and 3328 days ago)Love this, author, it's so creative! Great image for the background, and then the use of instrument parts with the fireworks is fantastic - I can almost hear the music and feel the beat. Cool circular piano keys. It reminds me of an abstract piece of fabric for curtains. Well done.
(5 years and 3328 days ago)Very interesting choice for a source/background image, this is quite nice! Beautiful shapes and lighting in this.
(5 years and 3328 days ago)This is quite beautiful, you did some good research. You achieved 'different' quite well, author. Good find on that compass, too!
(5 years and 3328 days ago)I thought stained glass also, and it reminds me of the crayon scribbles I did as a child. Very nice work, author.
(5 years and 3328 days ago)Very clever use of the hands as a texture, and agree with Lchappell regarding the depth. Looks also like a tapestry.
(5 years and 3328 days ago)Nice colors and symmetry. Welcome aboard!
(5 years and 3328 days ago)Very nice, she looks like a little porcelain doll!
(5 years and 3328 days ago)Love your zeppelins and that colorful sky between the clouds.
(5 years and 3328 days ago)The right hand should be flipped over, left and right arm are an obvious copy, otherwise nice feeling from this.
(5 years and 3329 days ago)Mmmmm, kinky! and a bit 'dark'.
(5 years and 3329 days ago)I especially love how you did her hair - the braid was a 'natural' from this source! Nice overall painting work, too, as always.
(5 years and 3329 days ago)Cool hydraulic legs there! Nice work, author. Yes, agree with Arca!
(5 years and 3329 days ago)Very creative use of this source, author!
(5 years and 3329 days ago)Nice blend and choice of elements!
(5 years and 3329 days ago)Great imagination here. Nice work with the two kids on the teeter-totter on the left side in the waves! OMG, Arca, there IS a shark in the wave!!!
(5 years and 3329 days ago)Author, this is quite an interesting chop, your steps 3 and 4 show the great modeling you did, but in the final image, they're all covered up, not showing. The straps are great - I hope they're leather! But the material for the top of the helmet looks too contemporary, not sure what it is. I like the glass view window on the front, and the little steam stack on the rear, it would be great to see some steam! Maybe try a wood texture for the helmet top, with some brass and leather accents - and then I'll want to order one!
(5 years and 3329 days ago)Author, this is a fantastic design, but it needs some Steampunk materials for the surfaces, I think with some brass and wood added (and even leather if you want) it would be a most formiddable Steampunk Choptron! Right now it looks awesome but too futuristic. The steam chamber is great, as are all the gears and tubes. Also, the steam probably could be less black, which is like smoke, and more white or gray, like steam. Would love to see it with those elements added. You have quite an incredible design here!
(5 years and 3329 days ago)Pretty cool design on this, tho the silver parts would be better as brass. Nice little touch with the maker's name and date.
(5 years and 3329 days ago)Aside from the model's attire being too contemporary for a Steampunk ride, the bike has some great elements to it. The wheels and top cover, not so much, tho, the outsides are way too contemporary, but the inside parts are cool, as is the hydraulic system, reminds me of a steam train. Would have loved to see an exhaust pipe with steam, too, but overall a pretty cool ride for the moonlit night.
(5 years and 3329 days ago)Good start, author, for the design. I wish the 'inner workings' from your Step 4 still show, that part is good. Not sure what the 'bell' thingies are, but they'd look great in brass - try removing the two side ones and have some steam coming from the bottom one, just a thought. The three gears showing are great, too. Try changing the material of the cap to wood. Keep at it, tho, nice work overall.
(5 years and 3329 days ago)This is pretty cool, author, and I'm thrilled to see those gears, tho I wish they had slightly more light on them. The brass parts are good, as are the hoses and spiral tubes. One nitpick is the bright edges of the 'legs', I think it's much too bright. Not sure what the disk material is, but that would look great as a nice finished wood. Overall, very good work, good design.
(5 years and 3329 days ago)I think you're on the right track, author, and the brass look on the rightside element is good, the copper looking material is ok, I think, tho brass would be much better. However, try changing the material for the base vertical post to wood and brass, the 'bumpy' parts on the right to more recognizeable wood tone, and the color of the hoses to something more neutral, then you'll have that great look! I agree with MossyB, it could use a larger base. Don't give up on this, you've got a great design.
(5 years and 3329 days ago)This is an awesome design and render, but it's not steampunk. There is no wood, no brass, no steam coming from 'smoke stacks' or tubes of any kind. Research this genre a little bit, author, and do another one, I'm sure you'll kick butt once you see the look. Think Victorian era look/materials with more current technology.
(5 years and 3329 days ago)Beautiful work, as always, well done, author!
(5 years and 3329 days ago)Here's what Lamantine told me when I asked about creating a fictitious creature:
(5 years and 3329 days ago)Well, I was thinking about any water creatures which were not proven to exist but in which some persons believe and that has its own legend. The list I've given is partial ; you can search for other myth sea creatures online. But I'm afraid you can't create one from your mind.
So the list on the link that he posted does have names of quite a few creatures, most have a description only, and a couple do have an image of some sort. I'm sure that there are lots more names and descriptions out there if you look further. Good luck to everyone!
EDIT: anything goes!
Those beams are not from a rescue 'copter! Great story here, author, nice atmosphere.
(5 years and 3329 days ago)Cool, great idea. The repetition of the elements is just right!
(5 years and 3329 days ago)Love the gears, love the crank, the keyboard work, but the chrome and blue lights just don't say 'steampunk' IMHO. The gramophone speaker is a really cool idea. If you could just switch the metal to brass, and re-color the lights to just a golden hue, this would be outstanding! Excellent construction overall.
(5 years and 3330 days ago)Whoa, baby - totally steampunk! Love your choice of the body texture. I see you're really into the heavy machinery, and tho I wish those gauges were larger, you've made a wonderful construction with the hydraulics and other textures. Great job!
(5 years and 3330 days ago)Fantastic work! Especially love the work on her eyes.
