Overall this shot is technically correct, but there could be more emotion is the man was looking at the camera or connecting more with the horse.

I love the lighting. In my opinion this photo could be improved by more room on the left as the horse seem tight to the frame when the other has so much room.

"stripes and/or squares" IMO it would be on theme as the squares are a dominant feature.

I agree it a nice shot, but it would have added to the beauty if there was, say a cpoule staring at the sea, or a child,or maybe a lone beach chair, somthing to bring it all together.This shot is beautiful it ust doesn't hold the attention,try foot prints leading down the path,a childs pail and shovel,be creative..... let your photo begain to tell a story and let the observer finish it..Please don't be angery I 'am just telling you the way I approach a shot my thought is any can shoot a beautiful sunset so I add somthing mystic,a shadow,piece of clothing etc...Friends. I have an idea for a beach shot I haven't tried yet I'll share it with you, get a old bottle ( clear glass) write somthing on a piece of paper put in the bottle ,make sure you can see the writing,NOT READ what is says though put a cork in the bottle.you can work a shot like this 100 different ways....

Wow!! Excellent & lucky shot! There are six players per side on the ice at any time. To catch 13 players from one team (AND one of them has a jersey number of 13...a rarity) is an extremely fortuitous shot! Beautiful light, color & balance.
