Cape Hatteras Lighthouse

Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, at 208 ft., is the tallest lighthouse in the United States. In 1999, due to extensive shore erosion, the lighthouse was moved 2870 ft. inland to protect it from being washed away at sea.

Currituck Lighthouse

Currituck Lighthouse was left unpainted, unlike most lighthouses, to show its brick work. It is 162 feet high and is a first order lighthouse, which means it has one of the 7 largest Fresnel lens sizes.
