whoooaaaa was that tilt intentional?
(5 years and 380 days ago)Interesting how the shadow of the wheel looks broken, I'm trying to figure it out. Good title....ha ha ha ha.
(5 years and 380 days ago)Congrats.
(5 years and 381 days ago)Congrats Brian
(5 years and 382 days ago)this feels very old, even the clothes they are wearing seem old. Interesting fete you attended. Clean and sharp image.
(5 years and 387 days ago)Great handling of bw and this image is well suited for all the tonal ranges from black to white and much in between. Too bad about the man's posterior on display but I love the sharpness of the shot and the contrast is nicely done.
(5 years and 388 days ago)This photo looks really great in high res, you can even see the sawdust flying around. Your tonal ranges are fabulous but we need to see their faces hard at work and not their derrieres! Good one for the bw contest.
(5 years and 388 days ago)A very nice no-nonsense photograph with good range of tones, contrast and white to black. Tight crop helps to pull the viewer into the image and focus on the driver. A bit more emotion from the driver would have been nice but sometimes it is just what it is...next time yell out hello to the fella then there would be more communication between subject and us viewers. Still, a great shot.
(5 years and 388 days ago)Congrats again Brian
(5 years and 396 days ago)Congrats Brian
(5 years and 396 days ago)CONGRATS photo nut! Reminded me of Canada this photo.
(5 years and 396 days ago)Congrats
(5 years and 397 days ago)Lovely old buses! Congratulations!
(5 years and 398 days ago)Love the mood and atmosphere of this image. It reminds me of "home". Well composed and cropped. Good entry with broad gray tonality which makes your image sparkle.
(5 years and 401 days ago)Nice shot "Supergold". Good you have one tulip if perfect focus. Naughty tulip peeking head into frame makes me smile.
(5 years and 401 days ago)The glare of the white in the right side of the image steals the show. A bit more detail on the main focal point would have worked. Your image has a nice story and the title marries well with your shot.
(5 years and 401 days ago)She is soft and the blonde hair behind her detracts. Remember in photography 101 when the teacher used to tell you be careful when you shoot because you are shooting the background too, make it count. I like that this is a predator prey image.
(5 years and 401 days ago)I like how you caught her in 'action' and that she is oblivious to your lens. I do not mind that you cropped her hat out of the frame because the focus is on the intensity on her face. The bokeh is really diffused, had the dof been a bit different to include more detail the feeling would have been richer with a "happening" and "crowds".
(5 years and 401 days ago)It is a beautiful shot. The fog in the background really makes the foreground pop.
(5 years and 403 days ago)Congrats Brian
(5 years and 403 days ago)This path appears to be winding around a dam or lake?
(5 years and 403 days ago)The water is very white. I am wondering if it is overexposed due to fog and sunlight reflections?
If it was originally shot in RAW, you can fix that and try to get back some detail in the water. If it was shot as JPEG, I don't think there is anything that can be done about it.

I agree with still about cropping the blurred section off the bottom.
Cloning marks have been left behind. Use your opacity slider to blend.
(5 years and 404 days ago)A pretty scene. The composition has been thought through. Have you tried a square format with dead center comoposition? (just for fun)
(5 years and 404 days ago)Lovely lead lines shown by the fence and the path itself winds us through the image. Have you considered cropping up to eliminate all that softness of the path at the bottom? The white halo effect around the tree....overprocessing?
(5 years and 404 days ago)There are so many things to love about this emotive upload. The grungy textural feel in the leaves, the texture on the graves , and soft dof in the leaves of the tree which helps frame (visually) the image. The darkness behind the graves further adds to a mysterious and spooky feel. The shadow light play is excellent and I like your crop with the path leading us into the image.
(5 years and 404 days ago)I am fascinated by the light in this. That dark background really makes the graves stand out. They seem to be the subject of the photo though instead of the path as the subject.
(5 years and 405 days ago)From the marks in the snow, it looks well used.
(5 years and 405 days ago)This one makes me want to walk up the hill because I am curious as to what kind of view can be seen from those rails.
(5 years and 405 days ago)Hi, you have people showing in the photo...upper L hand aspect of image. That is against the contest rules. You might want to change it before you get a note from the mod.
(5 years and 405 days ago)Llandudno!
(5 years and 405 days ago)Cool old PBY
(5 years and 405 days ago)All three faces looking helter skelter, not unified. Perhaps you needed to wait for the right moment to capture the interaction, think you missed it here.
(5 years and 407 days ago)Just hanging about. The interaction could be stronger.
(5 years and 407 days ago)Good human interaction felt with this shot. They are sharing a joke and what in heaven's name is he holding?....a rat? No, I do not mind that you cropped off half a hat because it is about the interaction and you caught that well.
(5 years and 407 days ago)Have you considered colour? Sorry, just jerking your chains. The b/w gives it another era feel and you did a good job in the cropping, nice and tight but enough marginal space. Image is sharp with good range of gray tonality.
(5 years and 407 days ago)Good interaction shot with everyone having something to say whether verbally or in body language, well seen. You have to be careful with cropping a joints (knees) because it weakens the image as our eyes and brains tend to complete the photo and leave it quickly. I like the marginal space you have provided. A steady image.
(5 years and 407 days ago)It's not often we see steam trains anymore. Those left in this world are generally tourist attractions so which tourist attraction is this one?
(5 years and 408 days ago)You were lucky to be there when all this steam was about too. Great shot.
Beautiful old buses. I think vintage vehicles have so much character about them.
(5 years and 408 days ago)Well done.
Congrats for 3 and 4
(5 years and 410 days ago)Congrats on 2nd Brian
(5 years and 410 days ago)This is a noisy plane. A bit of noise reduction might help improve it.
(5 years and 411 days ago)They look like they are having lots of fun. Great work.
(5 years and 411 days ago)Good on you photonutsky!
(5 years and 411 days ago)Good eye for seeing this and those little flowers just add a sigh to the image. Strong contender! Imaginative and out of the ordinary. Good work.
(5 years and 412 days ago)Sharp "as a woman's tongue" a very nice reflection, colourful, eye catching. Nice work and good eyes.
(5 years and 412 days ago)Some of those are weird looking "onions" :p
(5 years and 412 days ago)I flew on one of these piloted by my father in the 1960's --RCAF version was known as Canso
(5 years and 412 days ago)Congrats again Brian
(5 years and 417 days ago)Congrats Photonut!
(5 years and 417 days ago)Nice catch
