You should have kicked this can out
(5 years and 419 days ago)I agree, but this contest is in English language Denlig. In English you get this definition:
(5 years and 419 days ago)"A medium-sized sailing boat equipped for cruising or racing".
In French the term yacht refers to a much larger and much more luxurious boat
(5 years and 419 days ago)'Photograph one of the numbers which lay between 51' : the boat on the right has another number and in addition it exceeds 100...
(5 years and 419 days ago)And congrats again, very good week for you!
(5 years and 424 days ago)Congrats
(5 years and 424 days ago)Congrats Brian
(5 years and 424 days ago)Congrats on 2 and 3 Brian
(5 years and 431 days ago)Congrats on 2nd Brian
(5 years and 431 days ago)I love the sepia effect. It works well with the vintage looking pram and old timers. Beautiful work.
(5 years and 438 days ago)Congrats Brian for all your weapons wins
(5 years and 438 days ago)A nice photo but it was already taken part in the other contest. Perhaps it's allowed...
(5 years and 439 days ago)Good catch, draws me in.
(5 years and 443 days ago)powerful!
(5 years and 443 days ago)Catches our eyes and I like the grandeur of nature juxtaposed against whimsical man made colourful boats.
(5 years and 443 days ago)A greater dof would have worked too but this is artistic license. Nicel lead line takes our eyes into the image.
(5 years and 443 days ago)Check horizon line tilt to left. I wonder what it is I am seeing?
(5 years and 443 days ago)Great shot albeit a snappy happy touristy shot, but a good one.
(5 years and 443 days ago)Congrats Brian.
(5 years and 446 days ago)I can't imagine fighting flames with this on one's head! Nice shiny, could have used a better aperture setting to get it sharp. Good tight crop keeps the viewer focused on the focal point ðŸ˜.
(5 years and 451 days ago)And it is shiny! Like the way it is coming in at a diagonal and there are no hot spots! Good one....5 star.
(5 years and 452 days ago)Congrats Brian
(5 years and 452 days ago)Have you considered cropping up to eliminate that black bar going across the road? These buses look old, like from another era. I like how they are crowding the road. Good catch.
(5 years and 453 days ago)Now I can't stop singing that song. "ON the road again"...la la la la . This is more about a man on a motorcylce than it is about a road which you have cropped out. I'm seeing it as an alleyway. BUT...the story is present, as is the song. 😉
(5 years and 453 days ago)Good idea to change this to monochrome for the strong shapes and textures really pop. The black shadow in dead center is rather strong and please look at your sky...there is a lot of noise with jpeg artifacts thrown in, try using your de-noise .
(5 years and 453 days ago)5 stars easy for lovely texture which works really well with b/w. Well balanced, good contrast, nice gray tonality. Everything works here, so much so, that I would like to go and visit this place. A great upload. ðŸ‘
(5 years and 453 days ago)Many nice things to like about this post. Well composed, sharp and shiny. The colour saturation natural and unpretentious. See that lampost on the margin line poking it's head into the frame...?....try cropping to the American flag to cut it right out, if it bothers you. 5 stars easy. ðŸ˜
(5 years and 453 days ago)I liked this one, congrats on your win!
(5 years and 453 days ago)I think this is a nice shot. I like the B&W, and don't really think a tighter crop would be better. The height of the grave stone on the left being near the height of the church not only balances the shot, but sends a subliminal message about life and death. How well it fits the theme is a separate issue from the quality of the photo. Personally, I think it fits the theme just fine. Many people pray at gravesides. What is praying? It's a form of worship. We can worship in a giant cathedral or mosque, or we can worship at a humble site in the country or the side of a grave.
(5 years and 453 days ago)I agree with Olga. The gravestones make me think more of death than worship of any kind. The photo would fit better into a cemetery theme in my opinion. It has a sense of sadness about it. Maybe a shot of the church without so many graves around it would fit better into a "places of worship" theme? I don't know of any people that worship anything at gravestones.
(5 years and 454 days ago)I like everything about this. You have good marginal space all round and the texture is great as is the colout palette.
(5 years and 456 days ago)Hi, you can see you have overprocessed this piece with that white halo effect and jpeg artifacts in the sky too. This is a powerful presentation and yes, it is circular!
(5 years and 456 days ago)Hi there....this image is all about visual weight, that which grabs our eyes, what we view the longest and most closely at...what steals the show. In my eyes, your gravestone on the left demands and gets attention. I feel just a tad of a smaller crop would have put more visual weight onto the church and less on the stone.
(5 years and 456 days ago)Very good shot showing emotion and we get into the story. I do not have any suggestions for improvement but want to say thank you for the description. Did you know that police work is one of the MOST stressful occupations there is?
(5 years and 458 days ago)grunge is nice on this and of course b/w puts us into the mood of 1796....wow.
(5 years and 458 days ago)Very nice textural quality and very Europe!
(5 years and 459 days ago)YOU BET. What a fabulous piece of art done by this stained glass aritist and you have captured it well. Now that I study the piece more closely I'm beginning to wonder if it is indeed stained glass or painted as the curves are smooth and the glass painted...never mind. Your photo does justice and thank you for the description.
(5 years and 460 days ago)Yes, I will drink to that! It is a pity that you did not catch a single face to show emotion of what is going on, but body language speaks too.
(5 years and 461 days ago)A well seen Greek Orthodox church. Your photos are making me feel like I wasnt to visit Crete. You could bring down the hot spots with your IMAGE > ADJUSTMENTS> Highlight/Shadow lever.
(5 years and 461 days ago)Nicely composed, rich saturation.
(5 years and 461 days ago)Great catch of patterns that repeat. Can you bring down the hot spot, the glare through the windows somewhat? Nice composition.
(5 years and 461 days ago)A wee bit of clipping evident, but a pleasant shot.
(5 years and 462 days ago)Reaching towards the bokeh, nice catch.
(5 years and 463 days ago)The bokeh in this could be stronger because as it is it seems just soft dof which does make for a nice photograph.
(5 years and 463 days ago)Good rust, nice focus on the rust, good picture.
(5 years and 463 days ago)Good on you for number two!
(5 years and 467 days ago)Hey congrats on number 3....nice one.
(5 years and 467 days ago)I wouldn't mind working here. Happy Snappy photo, good for your family album...and for us too see and salivate over.
(5 years and 467 days ago)Nice shot. They almost look like fireworks.
(5 years and 468 days ago)Oh so Italy, nice in b/w
