This is a nice entry. My only advice would be to skew the shadow on the ceiling to the left somewhat so it is not the same as the shadow on the wall.
(5 years and 3268 days ago)The framing and wall are nice touches.
(5 years and 3268 days ago)I really like the atmosphere, depth, and composition of this nicely conceived piece. The people, though, don't work for me.
(5 years and 3268 days ago)Really cool! Too bad about the air quality. I also feel like there's a reason he/she must look over the shoulder. This would have been a good one for the Post-Apocalyptic contest too.
(5 years and 3268 days ago)Very dynamic! Well done!
(5 years and 3269 days ago)I might have nestled the hook a little deeper in the fingers for the grip, but the piece is well chopped. I like it!
(5 years and 3269 days ago)Nice idea. I would suggest a little noise or blur on the human, as he is a little crisp compared to the rest.
(5 years and 3269 days ago)Is that a mouth on her stomach? Anyway, it's creepy and cool. Good luck!
(5 years and 3269 days ago)Really different. I like it.
(5 years and 3269 days ago)I like your composition and unusual color choices, author
(5 years and 3269 days ago)Congrats on 3rd!
(5 years and 3271 days ago)First of all, congrats on 3rd place!
(5 years and 3271 days ago)A side note to whomever thinks overlaying a piece to check for legitimacy is a negative thing- I have flagged pieces in the past that were indeed traced and they were pulled. I don't tolerate tracing from my students and it has no place here. If you you want to trace, buy a freaking coloring book and some crayons! That being said, I'M GLAD this drawing is legit and I appreciate that greatly!
Author, I hope to see many more from you!
Congrats mom 'o 4
(5 years and 3271 days ago)Your Grandson told me to tell you "wow".
(5 years and 3271 days ago)CONGRATS....WELL DONE!
(5 years and 3272 days ago)Could it be.....a young Eddie? It would give me Piece of Mind to know.
(5 years and 3273 days ago)Nice work
That's a very unique twist! Nice work, author
(5 years and 3273 days ago)I thought the iris blossoms were chopped from an iris photo!
(5 years and 3274 days ago)Nice concept and composition, author.
(5 years and 3274 days ago)Really cool. I love the camo.
(5 years and 3274 days ago)Regarding Keilly22's observation, if you duplicate the background layers that are washed out it should give them more presence & stronger color.
(5 years and 3275 days ago)This has great possibilities. The atmosphere is nice also. I might suggest a little cut & paste to rearrange some of the repeated structural shapes and make them more random, since they are randomly collapsed. Unless there is lightning behind us, the girl's hand seems a little bright.
(5 years and 3275 days ago)This a kinda neat atmosphere, but the the girl is almost one story tall. I think she'd be much better at about 1/2 that size.
(5 years and 3275 days ago)Awesome ATV, but I wouldn't sit on it!
(5 years and 3275 days ago)This is pretty cool, but I would like it better without total symmetry. The braided steel concept is a good one.
(5 years and 3275 days ago)Looks pretty good in low res. Unless the deer(fawn) is mutated, in needs to be way closer, like between the bottom of the picture and the car, because it is huge. It would be shorter than the foreground car, even if standing beside it.
(5 years and 3276 days ago)Edit:
I see you've moved the deer up, but its still too big. An adult white tail deer is only 32-44 inches at the shoulder. If you compare that height to a car, it's still quite large.
Well done, and the values are well represented also.
(5 years and 3278 days ago)Great job, author! That's a difficult expression to draw. I must confess that I even did an overlay in photoshop to check for tracing evidence. I'm glad it wasn't too good to be true!
(5 years and 3278 days ago)I like this except for where there are masking artifacts on the top part of the top hand.
(5 years and 3279 days ago)Nice composition
(5 years and 3279 days ago)Really cool!
(5 years and 3279 days ago)Nice composition, and a very odd feeling piece of work(in a good way).
(5 years and 3279 days ago)LOL . I haven't heard that song for a LONG time - WMMS I think.
(5 years and 3279 days ago)Love the picture. My only issue that lightning wouldn't cast a shadow on the ground.
(5 years and 3281 days ago)Is this what Peter Steele looks like now? Nice job.
(5 years and 3281 days ago)Great composition!. There's a lot going on, but it was softened in all the right places.
(5 years and 3281 days ago)Nice retro feeling & great theme!
(5 years and 3281 days ago)Very unique approach! ...and you were smoking what? Oh well, nicely rendered.
(5 years and 3281 days ago)Very nice!
(5 years and 3282 days ago)I like this image a lot, but I would shift the shadows to the left to go with the light source coming from the right.
(5 years and 3282 days ago)Really cool chop.
(5 years and 3282 days ago)This is plain freaky! It makes me think of Pink Floyd for some reason. Well blended, author.
(5 years and 3282 days ago)Ha! A lefty! I like the way you closed the eyes on the subject, author. Great work!
(5 years and 3283 days ago)I'm not a big fan of random imaginary creatures, but this guy is dynamic and well crafted - artistically rendered and foreshortened - beyond just slapping pieces parts together for a "cute", symmetrical character staring at me....again. I would like to see him in a scene of some type, but the background still works very nicely. Great job!
(5 years and 3283 days ago)Really nice mood and composition. I would look for some shots of real crows or something in the sky, though. I think the bird brushes take away from otherwise nice work.
(5 years and 3283 days ago)Nice chop, but I agree with greymval. I would use different guys in the background, as that was the first thing I noticed.
(5 years and 3283 days ago)I'll avoid controversial discussions, author, but if I may, I would suggest using your clone stamp to alter elements of your picture that are repeated such as sky/cloud/star patterns and rock strata. IMO, it really adds to a piece's realism when objects can be"randomized" and given identity as unique entities. With a little practice, you can achieve good results that way, and relatively quickly. There are some light issues as mentioned, but I do like your mood and composition. Happy chopping!
(5 years and 3285 days ago)This is beautiful, but I'm confused. I'm having trouble seeing snow, and when I go to high res. it looks like it's filtered. Please explain if you will.
(5 years and 3286 days ago)Very nice composition.
