The large vegetation to the right appears to dissapear behind the shoulder. If you lap a tiny bit of it over the soulder I think it would improve the spacial relationship. I really like the color and the mood of the piece.
(5 years and 3835 days ago)Very unique use of source!
(5 years and 3835 days ago)Still nice.....
(5 years and 3835 days ago)Love the pestestal you created for the vase, author. This is an interesting piece with an original twist on the source.
(5 years and 3835 days ago)Visually simple, but nice ly done. As for the shadow- I've always painted shadows in my murals.
(5 years and 3835 days ago)Thw two people in front match the light source very well. The guys on the left don't work as well. They are in partial shade, but a little of that direct light would filter through to them. Additionally, their light source comes from the right & they should be closer to the size of the two people in the front. I'm not sure about the ones to the right. I don't want to sound negative here because you did a GREAT job on the two in the foreground, as they fit, IMO, perfectly.
(5 years and 3835 days ago)Edit: The light on the guys looks better.
Nice idea. I would shade the text plane a little bit more.
(5 years and 3835 days ago)Very nice....want to see SBS
(5 years and 3835 days ago)Love the over all feel. One thing I would suggest i.
(5 years and 3835 days ago)Very nice, and some of the blurred poppy colors seem to represent blood-soaked fabric. Nice sentiments and composition.
(5 years and 3835 days ago)I like this, except with a high light source no shadow would be visible above the head, only below.
(5 years and 3835 days ago)Some slight shading where the beard goes under the jaw might be beneficial here(or not).
(5 years and 3835 days ago)Interesting application of brushes.
(5 years and 3835 days ago)Still great!
(5 years and 3835 days ago)I think the purple is an effective contrasting element. The over all effect of this work is very cool IMO.
(5 years and 3836 days ago)I like this, but the guy needs eye holes.
(5 years and 3836 days ago)Still great.
(5 years and 3836 days ago)Intrinsic, this is resubmitted from a lost contest as as encouraged.
You have done a nice job of creating your own scale, author. Everything is believable. I'm just not sure about the shadows under the figures. Its a tough one since there is no strong light, but it seems that maybe the shadows should fall slightly to the right since the trees are brighter on the left.
(5 years and 3836 days ago)Love your concept. Surreal is good. I would like to see a lighter road where the sun is hitting it on the mountain side. I also like the intentional change in scale.
(5 years and 3836 days ago)Different & I like it. She looks a bit sinister, despite the beauty.
(5 years and 3836 days ago)There are some masking issues on the left arm with this version. Too bad you couldn't use the girl.
(5 years and 3836 days ago)Get that landing gear down or we're going to ...........Nice idea author.
(5 years and 3836 days ago)Grotesque, but funny.
(5 years and 3836 days ago)I didn't appreciate this until I saw the SBS....Great work!
(5 years and 3836 days ago)OK. Personally I avoid controversy, but...Guernica was a very controversial painting and was rightfully not removed from society. Art is a reflection of human existance during a period of time. Sure we don't want an image like this to be presented in humor or something like that, but this situation exists, and I view this piece as a reminder of the vigilance all people need to maintain to protect our little people. Assuming your intent was solemn, author, I think this is a great piece. I understand why some dissagree and I respect their reasoning also.
(5 years and 3836 days ago)very creative
(5 years and 3836 days ago)Much better
(5 years and 3836 days ago)I wanted to so this theme, and I would have been quite proud to produce this!
(5 years and 3836 days ago)Interesting piece and nice border treatment. I get a little confused on the scale of the woman.
(5 years and 3836 days ago)Would like to know what a sender is, but whatever that may be, this is a very nice piece!
(5 years and 3836 days ago)This is a good premise, but the brightness of the clouds seems to distract me from the girl, who shpould be the focal point. I think this is a real tough one to get the lighting right.
(5 years and 3836 days ago)Rock...Paper...Scissors...guess she was up against scissors. Very nice, author.
(5 years and 3836 days ago)The light source on the rocks is from the left, but the main area is effective enough that it's not real noticeable.
(5 years and 3836 days ago)I like it . Especially like the plasma-like shapes in the dress.
(5 years and 3836 days ago)Oversaturates my brain, plus what CMYK says.
(5 years and 3836 days ago)Edit: Author, get an allowable background and work in what you've done with the figure....it could be real nice.
Sampson's sister? Very interesting pic. I don't think I'd mess with her. That whole aura of energything is pretty cool.
(5 years and 3836 days ago)Very nice effect, and well composed
(5 years and 3836 days ago)Very nice. Just one small thing. I would use the pen tool to fix the curve on the top of the pedestal to match the curvature of the bevels.
(5 years and 3837 days ago)Love the work on the car body. The tires are too high(the body would scrape). If this was placed on top of something it wouldn't look sunken into the ground on the far side.
(5 years and 3837 days ago)The tires do look better now. If you could find a photo with a close hill to put it on, perspective would virtually take care of itself. Good luck.
Very well done!
(5 years and 3837 days ago)Well done. I like your approach. Does the land in the background go with it?
(5 years and 3837 days ago)As a former ceramic muralist, I love this idea. Two small things, though. I would extend the green thing on the left around the character's waste so its not cut off- like you did on the other side. I would also apply a sligh gaussian blur on the center piece to soften those inner edges so they match the blue glaze on the outside. Over all I think this is a nice piece.
(5 years and 3837 days ago)Video game limbo...this is where Super Mario goes between lives. Nice original approach and interesting composition!
(5 years and 3838 days ago)I think some renant of the spiral should be seen through the stem of the glass, but over all I think this is a strong image
(5 years and 3838 days ago)I think this is a great image. I would try to lap some grass over those clumps of grass that seem to be floating though(like the left rear).
(5 years and 3838 days ago)Edit: Better author High score from me.
Very well done. I'm not sure about the face on the sun. I think it detracts from the rest of your piece.
(5 years and 3838 days ago)Very well done!
(5 years and 3841 days ago)Nice work, but I might suggest that you shift the shadows to oppose the highlights of the peppers.
(5 years and 3841 days ago)Awesome apllication of PS and drawing.
(5 years and 3841 days ago)Looks hand-colored. Nicely done.
