Tribute to Dio
There are two sources here, and a deviation in the SBS, because part way in I realized I didn't have the pose I wanted. For the late great Ronnie James Dio, 1942-2010.

The blowing hair on the man is part of the background. This is a re-submit, as I used bevel-emboss in the leaves and branches on first draft.

This is primarily dodge and burn with a bit of gray scale brush work. No sources used.

Photo references are mine.

This was done with lots of bevel and emboss. rust textures were created with a combination of brush and eraser. I love the way erasers affect a layer with bevel/emboss selected. Of course you need a duplicate layer beneath.

The skull pic is from a local nature center and is actually being used as a reference for the same piece that is all digital drawing.

No references were used. The clouds were painted with assistance of an excellent cloud brush tutorial from http://www.tutorialized.com/view/tutorial/Clouds-Tutorial-By-Genny/64650. I use my own methods with my brush, including adding perspective for greater depth.
I wanted to do some loose figures in a darkened recess, so i started with an arch and went from there.I added a little bit of color at the, but didn't want to over do it. No sources used.

These are trees on a ridge...pretty simple. No sources but imagination.

The perspective isn't perfect here, but the stone masons had one hell of a time.

The figure in the picture was taken by me. The buildings were not from any particular source. I browsed some pictures from the ruins to get a general feel for the architecture & made my own using good old 1-point perspective. I also asked a few questions of ChaCha(424424) on the cell phone regar...

This was done from a composite of two of my old photos(praying mantis) and one I took(wasp) while working on the drawing. I tried to scan for a brighter image, but my camera has better resolution. No camera raw is available to me at the moment to make lighting adjustments.

Ok, I disliked this as it was 1st entered. The colors were too weak, so it has been revamped a bit.
No references were used. Rough sketched in pencil, then a 02 tip pen(partially dry), and a 005.

This painting took a very long time. I was unhappy with the lower portion at one point because it detracted from the composition, so I changed it from shear cliff to a more gradual grassy slope with some rocks. There is no reference but memory and imagination. The sky was built from many many layers...

This was done with a 005 Micron pen over a light pencil sketch and quite a few hours. The pencil was erased early in the process. Yoyu may have to view high res to see the dots(yes they are there :) No references were used.

Snapper and dairy cow. The photos are mine.
This pot was inspired by some of the ancient pots I remember from art history. I did a quick sketch of two pots & chose to go with the older style. There are no references used.

A structurally oriented font from the Plebius scrolls. ;)
I drew this from my head starting last weekend. SBS will follow tomorrow, as I left my preliminary sketches at work. Ah- Correction- I have the prelims on my flash drive with me. Sorry about the quality. I didn't have access to a scanner where I was working on it.
