This looks great to me, it's your first 3D render and it's very impressive! The reflections are excellent and the materials look good. The cake does look a tad bit blurry, but not enough to worry about. You could do some post work in photoshop if you wanted to.

This is wonderful! It seems that the smaller dog is casting a shadow in mid air though, i;d also try brightening him up. Other than that this looks great!

It's an understandable fear, try to follow BDDesigns advice, the shadow at the bottom looks very odd.

looks way too simple, but it looks like a nice selection of the hand.

Edit: Ohh wait! After lookigbn at your steop by step[ guide i understand what you were trying to do, however it doesn't really show toow ell. What you should do now is move the displaced flag on a layer on top of the hand and set the flag to something like 'Overlay' or 'Multiply. This will really help sell your effect, and earn you MUCH higher marks. (try it with full opacity as well)

it looks nice and the overall effect is very believeable, but the moon and the dunes seem compressed.. i suggest holding down the shift key when resizing in photoshop to maintain proportions. Good luck!!
