I saw a lot of these in Cuba, I agree the weirdest spiders I ever saw.
If you touch their web, where they spend most of the time sitting in the middle, they spin around like mad.
I guess the spikes put the gecko's off eating them, and the giant (by UK standards) toads that came out at night.

Much as I never thought I'd say it for a critter like this, well... this is a very nice spider

The focus is certainly on the leaf not the bug.

It's a bit OOF, the green leaf under the bug seems to be in better focus. It is also lacking in detail which makes me think it's a cropped image rather than a true macro. I don't have a macro lens and have attempted to crop an image but the quality suffers too much IMO.

Oooh - now doesn't that make my initial statement look silly This is a better one IMO, nice leading lines and use of rule of 1/3's .. & straight horizon

I think there is a bit much foreground grass - it has grown wild and taken over the rest of the image
