i love the gem but the contest states that gem only...no stand, carpets, pebbles or any other objects allowed and possibly on a black/ near black background. If these are allowed i think the contestants that already past their entries would have done it differently to get more of the caustic effect.

yup caustic is very hard on a black matte a light color would show caustic more.

great work! never could have guessed this was photoshoped if i've seen this elsewhere

play w/ the texture some more and avoid making them look like clones....same with the butteflies, rotate/change perspective on some of them. this can be a very good image if you get the color and mood right.
