I noticed the same thing myself but I think to a length of 2 to 2.8 without tripod I think it's hard to get the focus right. A small movement of the hand and can go wrong point of focus, in any case congratulations author

Very well composed - the one thing I would nit pick on would be the focus on the eyes are soft.
