IMHO step 3 is better then end result. Personally I do not like the added egg shells.

Motion blur comes to mind.

The sparks are a light source. There couldn't be cast shadows on them.

I'd remove the drop shadows on the pieces above his left hand. Otherwise well done.

This is a cool chop. That baby is so creepy. Good depth of field which adds a lot to it. Extra points for sure for the wonderful SBS!!

Beautiful effect of painting but there is one thing that upsets me: it is the position of the shadow, I would have personally put it to the right of the portrait because we see some light coming from the left.

So, this is what a professional work of art is supposed to look like...my creations really tell me that I need to polish and learn and you are a marvelous teacher.
