Congrats!! Really cute kitty!
(5 years and 3356 days ago)The theme states "-You cannot use complete night skies -You can use moons, stars and clouds cut from night shots - some of what you use can be shot at night but only minimally -" This entry fits this description, only parts allowed are used.
(5 years and 3356 days ago)@ShiZa, normally I don't like text on entries either however this is a greeting card and I agree with cabldawg71, it's a very nice one!
Very effective, great mood! The clouds almost seem to move.
(5 years and 3357 days ago)I like this idea very much. I liked the sleigh w/Santa so I searched on flickr and found this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/borrowed/2071281749/sizes/l/ Should be easy to mask the shape, a little clean up and it should work and you'll keep your original idea! Couldn't hurt to try.
(5 years and 3358 days ago)The rule regarding use of illustration has been changed slightly. See http://www.pxleyes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2956&p=39727#p39727 for details.
I do agree with arca, there is a lovely ethereal quality to this. A good tip as well regarding the rule of thirds, in fact the source image of the forest is a good example of this rule. The rhythm established by the trees helps break up the symmetry as does the glow in the sky but you could try as arca suggests. Nice work and GL!
(5 years and 3361 days ago)BTW the credits for the authors don't match up. They should read 1. demma, 2.deSpool and 3. avanzero. These authors don't require credit but it's always polite to thank them anyway.
Congrats!!

(5 years and 3363 days ago)Nice work! Looks like an ad from the Franklin Mint. It's appropriate that you made madamemonty solid gold...she really is! The face on the second coin looks like a cross between Gandalph and Santa Claus...ohh it's...never mind.
(5 years and 3364 days ago)Really nice!! Great color and design. The "kabuki" look really makes it work!
(5 years and 3364 days ago)Nice idea, just follow the great tip from greymval, that would improve the work considerably. You might check the cloning on the background, it's a bit too obvious. GL!
(5 years and 3365 days ago)BTW a high res image is always helpful.
Really good concept and well executed! @CMYK46: I tend to agree, an animated gif doesn't tell the whole story. The one in this SBS is good but I would have liked to see more detail especially because this is really nice work. As Bob suggests this opinion in no way should affect our votes, this is good work deserving a good vote.
(5 years and 3375 days ago)Reminds me of the classic pin ups from the 40's and 50's. Good concept! As pearlie said I also thank your nephew and all those who risk so much to keep us safe.
(5 years and 3376 days ago)Great work truly believable! Reminds me of a Drill Instructor I once had.
(5 years and 3377 days ago)Cool image! As an ex-biker myself I wondered why he doesn't have "ape hanger" handlebars.
(5 years and 3378 days ago)Really well done! Great use of an excellent photograph! Wonderful energy.
(5 years and 3384 days ago)Interesting stylized rendering! I like the strategic placement of the eye color, very nice! A brilliant must see film! BTW Maria was the inspiration for C3PO.
(5 years and 3385 days ago)Very sweet image! Looks like paper cutouts in a shadow box. Well done!
(5 years and 3387 days ago)Beautiful image and a good use of the source!
(5 years and 3390 days ago)I think JamesD is referring to this cat: http://bluefire-sffs.com/images/cat.jpg Jawshoewhah provided the link in a comment on another entry. Thanks Jawshoewhah!
(5 years and 3391 days ago)I also think you did a nice job here, I don't see anything that needs improvement IMO. This is a great place to learn with many helpful members who will offer tips and suggestions so welcome to Pxleyes and good luck! BTW you don't have to post a link to the contest source, only the other outside sources used.
(5 years and 3392 days ago)Lovely ethereal quality!
(5 years and 3394 days ago)Lovely, just lovely!
(5 years and 3394 days ago)Nicely done! Great dramatic effect and good use of a simple source!
(5 years and 3394 days ago)I agree with CMYK46, a darker tone on the vertical face would help. The shadow of the biker is from the source so it makes sense but you could try to even up the shadows tonality. It is a funny concept!
(5 years and 3394 days ago)The image is very dark, hard to distinguish what's going on. Images often get darker when posted I suggest you lighten it up a bit to compensate.
