(5 years and 1173 days ago)This is a very niece piece however there are some problems. As CMYK46 mentioned you do have to remove the link for your DA image and place your photo in an SBS stating that it is your own in order to remain anonymous.
(5 years and 1177 days ago)More importantly the source used for the tea kettle is not acceptable. The image comes from an on line catalog: http://www.parousiasi.gr/?product=morphy-richards-%CF%84%CF%83%CE%B1%CE%B3%CE%B9%CE%B5%CF%81%CE%B1-%CE%BC%CE%B5-%CF%83%CF%86-46501 and it is an altered image which is also under copyright-© 2013 Παρουσίαση. All Rights Reserved.
You will have to use an acceptable source and make the other corrections as stated. It is important that you read the Beginners Guide available here: http://www.pxleyes.com/courses/guide/ You can also find the original forum post about sources here: http://www.pxleyes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5644 It's important to learn the rules to avoid problems like these. All the information you need can be found in the links I've provided.
I expect the Contest Moderator will be sending you a warning and temporarily remove your entry until it is corrected. As I mentioned this is a very nice image and I hope you will be able to make the corrections and republish. If you need assistance you can send me a PM (Private Message) and I'll answer any questions you have.
Good to see you've corrected the problems, all is fine now. Thanks to Bob (CMYK46) for helping out with his comment!
(5 years and 1178 days ago)You do need to post source links as CMYK46 mentioned. You should also read the Beginners Guide: http://www.pxleyes.com/courses/guide/

(5 years and 1181 days ago)Congrats Randy, well deserved!!
(5 years and 1181 days ago)The image size seems to be correct now at 1920X1080, I expect the Contest Moderator will check this again.
(5 years and 1182 days ago)This is a nice image but the obvious cloning of the clouds is distracting. It's a simple fix, just clone out the obvious repetitive areas so that no two areas are exactly the same.
Author the link you show is the download link which you should not use. Instead use the link that shows the image and the information about that image, in this case use: https://pixabay.com/en/sunrise-light-sun-web-1583304/
(5 years and 1183 days ago)You can't change your entry at this point since the contest is on "vote only" mode but remember in the future to put the URL(address) in the top box and use the bottom box marked "text" for the description or credit.
This is a really well designed piece and I like it very much however I do agree there is too much negative space.
(5 years and 1184 days ago)Well done rendition of a classic image!!
(5 years and 1185 days ago)Congrats again George!!

(5 years and 1189 days ago)rturnbow is correct about the Earth image. You can find many on Flickr with this link: https://www.flickr.com/search/?advanced=1&license=1%2C2%2C9%2C10&text=earth
(5 years and 1190 days ago)This image is just one you'll find on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/northshoreschoolofart/8666615947/sizes/l
We do allow some simple images like lightbeams and many grunge textures that are actually Photoshopped. I'll check with the other mods and see if the lens flare source is acceptable.
Congrats George!!

(5 years and 1195 days ago)While it is true that we do not allow the use of DeviantArt Photography images as a rule there can be exceptions. In this case the DeviantArt author states in the comments (seventh comment from the top), in response to a request to use the image as stock: "Thanx! Please, feel free to use my work as you wish - I do not believe in copyrights and such "
(5 years and 1198 days ago)We have seen this before on DeviantArt and because of this it's important to carefully check the terms for individual images. In general DeviantArt Photography images are copyrighted and cannot be used as stock but as in this case there are exceptions. It should also be mentioned that DeviantArt Stock authors can write any rules they wish and many are so unusual and complex we no longer check for compliance, that is now up to the Pxleyes entry author. As long as the image is listed as "stock" and has not been altered by Photoshop (other than a color change or enhancement) we allow it.
Note that source 8- The Starfield is an image in the Public Domain that has been enhanced with a color change so it is acceptable as a source.
BTW author, a really nice entry!
Author you've placed the link in the wrong box. The URL (address link) goes in the top box, the bottom box marked "text" is for the description/credit. You also used the download link which is incorrect, always use the link that shows the image and the usage rights/license for that image. In this case the correct link is: https://pixabay.com/en/dog-best-friends-pet-girl-pretty-421714/
(5 years and 1205 days ago)Please correct your entry as soon as possible.
It's still better to work your entry at a higher res and larger size, this will make it easier to work details and will give you an optimum quality which when reduced to 72dpi will give you a larger and sharper high res and entry image.
(5 years and 1208 days ago)Your high res is only 6.292"X 9.292" and can't be enlarged to see more detail. Compare that with this other entry in the contest: http://www.pxleyes.com/photoshop-picture/57941c6bd6fc6/Royal-Air-Corps.html which has a high res of 64.528"X45.167" allowing the viewer to see a much larger version that you can zoom in to see finite details of the work.
As a professional artist my original illustrations both in conventional media and CGI were always done at a size much larger than the reproduction size to produce a high quality sharp image.
Love this!! Very well done!!
(5 years and 1210 days ago)Congrats once again!!
(5 years and 1210 days ago)Congrats Randy!!
(5 years and 1210 days ago)Congrats!! Well worth the effort, looking forward to more!
(5 years and 1210 days ago)Congrats Loyd!!
(5 years and 1210 days ago)Congrats!!
(5 years and 1210 days ago)Congrats Rob!!
(5 years and 1210 days ago)Very nice! Good to see you back!
(5 years and 1213 days ago)Author I spent some time searching for a similar image of the girl on a rope and found some on DeviantArt. Check this link: http://www.deviantart.com/browse/all/resources/stockart/?q=hanging+on+a+rope&offset=13
(5 years and 1214 days ago)This one has a whole assortment of images: http://www.deviantart.com/art/Rope-Pack-Collab-with-mjranum-stock-397637289
If you find something suitable there's still time to make the change.
Very nicely done!
(5 years and 1216 days ago)Lovely image and right on theme!
(5 years and 1216 days ago)Author you can't remove your own entry, only a moderator can do that. I posted a comment explaining what's wrong with your entry and how to fix it. Others have encouraged you to make the changes needed, you should do that soon or your entry will be removed.
(5 years and 1216 days ago)Good advice from scratzilla1 and Drivenslush. The sources used are at a good res and will be sharper if you create your entry at a larger size and at a higher resolution. I usually work at 200pxl per inch, see this entry for an example: http://www.pxleyes.com/photoshop-picture/56fecc534026b/Sunday-in-the-Park.html
(5 years and 1217 days ago)The PSD (working size) is appx. 11.656" X 9.56" at 200 pxls per inch. The JPEG used for submission is appx. 11.656" X 9.56" at 125 pxls per inch giving me a final image at 4.98M which is just under the maximum size allowed for submission images. This makes the high res version of the entry 20.236" X 16.597" at 72 pxls per inch.
It's just a matter of reducing the resolution when making the final JPEG. I keep the res at 100 pxls per inch as the minimum size and if needed I reduce the image dimensions until the final size is at 5.00M or just under that size. It's simple trial and error and takes a little time but the result is a good sharp entry image and a good high res version.
