Many thanks for your interest & comment on my 3D Renders to answers your question the main 3D application I use are 3DS Max, Poser 7 Pro 3D, DAZ Studio 3 Advanced, & Photoshopâ€¦..hope that is of some help... thay are not cheap but if you want to do 3D modeling your going to need at least one high end application best of luck

you could also try Carrara 7 that has a complete tool set & is pretty powerful almost up there in the pro-grade
