arrrggghhh my emoji didn't work
(5 years and 491 days ago):jumping2: Good for you, this was a winner, I knew it....big congratulations!
(5 years and 491 days ago)Hey, good on you for this win!
(5 years and 491 days ago)I liked this one very much and congrats on number 3!
(5 years and 491 days ago)Congrats also on number two as well
(5 years and 491 days ago)Congratulations on this win. It was a winner in my eyes!
(5 years and 491 days ago)Great idea, nice tight crop that holds us in the photo. I wonder if black and white with high contrast would pop it more ?
(5 years and 492 days ago)Ahhh cool, we don't have that kind of technology here and just get "shi..." all the time.
(5 years and 493 days ago)Italy is such a beautiful photogenic country. ............best of all it is filled with gregarious lovely Italians!
(5 years and 493 days ago)Glad to see the question burning was answered.
(5 years and 494 days ago)Like the shadow, the darkness, the monochrome and the mystery.
(5 years and 494 days ago)REalistic, well done, like everything about this handsomely constructed upload.
(5 years and 494 days ago)Well done, from the stars to the concept, spooky. This has an emotive pull for me.
(5 years and 494 days ago)Well done how you got the chopper in so clear like it belonged there. REalistic.
(5 years and 494 days ago)Looks so real, very good, I like it.
(5 years and 494 days ago)So for 5 times a day you smile. What are those gadgets in the middle of the mouth, is that a mailbox, but it looks like a computerized something?
(5 years and 494 days ago)I have a feeling I have this same photo somewhere in my stock. This is Croatia, Dubrovnik perhaps. Two doors with a history. Have you tried a tighter crop just to accentuate the doors a bit more as the walls speak loudly to our eyes?
(5 years and 494 days ago)Yes, yes yes....solid, steady photograph ....all the correct buttons from composition to tight crop to technical elements nailed. Top marks for this one from me.
(5 years and 494 days ago)Lovely and a very pretty scene to behold, would have been a good entry for red and white contest, but here it is for doors and holds its own! Could do with a bit of perspective adjustment but it has a story and a life. Quite like it.
(5 years and 494 days ago)OH MY, this would have made a beautiful painting print if only that paraphernalia in the lower right-hand corner wasn't there to distract from the beauty. Alas, sometimes we get what you get.
(5 years and 494 days ago)I studied your photo in high resolution. It looks better there but there is lens distortion and you were in a cramped spot I'm guessing. See those shoes on the margin line? Our teachers used to tell us that to leave objects on a margin line, half in and half out of the frame causes the viewer's eye to go there and our brains try to complete the picture. With our eyes there, and our brain working trying to complete the photo the interest on the main focal point gets lost and the viewer quickly leaves the photo. Our goal, as photographers is to try to keep the viewer lingering longer on our images. I like the textural quality of this door and oh if only it could talk the stories that it would tell!
(5 years and 494 days ago)Good catch and I love receiving a chuckle from a photo, yours did it for me this day. If you live near here try taking this during another time of day where you will not have shadows on the doors. I like the composition too, it is a steady, well-balanced photograph with natural saturation. Yellow is always associated with happiness and excitement.
(5 years and 494 days ago)I like the texture feel to this image and blue and white are well exposed. Please check to ensure there is no tilt to the left. Contrast is good and the diffused light compliments this serene photo.
(5 years and 494 days ago)Just came over to this side to have a peek....HOLY GUACAMOLE this caused a shiver to run down my spine. Loved it.
(5 years and 495 days ago)ahhhh ha ha ha ha. I like it.
(5 years and 495 days ago)I guessed right! YAY for me! Thank you.
(5 years and 496 days ago)Now, why couldn't I have thought of that!? I like it in monochrome and your expression further gives us pause as we try to figure out why that intensity...sharp and clear and tight crop holds us in the frame.
(5 years and 496 days ago)Thoughtful pose and that blur vignette is exactly what the doctor ordered to keep us looking longer. The eyes over your shoulder adds a creepy kind of flavour (and that is a good thing).
(5 years and 496 days ago)Clever. This is the kind of image, if hanging in a Photo Exhibition, would cause people to stop and study it closer. Perfectly rendered and a highly emotive photograph. Just as an aside, your dilemma does not only extend to you and your job but it seems it is the culture, the norm nowadays. Be grateful that you do not live in a country where lese-majeste rules, for it would be instant imprisonment anywhere from three to fifteen years.
(5 years and 496 days ago)Wish you had put up more information on this trap. Is this something that was used by the indigenous peoples or is it still in use. The exposure appears fine with good contrasts showing, it does not look washed out. The clarity you have on the center and that draws us in. Very interesting post.
(5 years and 496 days ago)That green tone is quite surreal and the image is soft, however, I do think it adds to the overall otherworldly feel.
(5 years and 496 days ago)Sharp and clear with good dof usage! Like it, a strong image although a bit tight at the left. Still get's 5 stars
(5 years and 496 days ago)I like how you caught the excitement of these canoeists and changing it into monochrome gets the viewer more involved in the action...good call.
(5 years and 496 days ago)This looks very inviting and I see you punched up the saturation to give it a surreal magical feel, it works. See those orange punches of bright light on the left of the image, they take our eyes away from your main focal pop? Eliminating those through a tighter crop would benefit your photograph and take us straight to this lovely "home away from home" image.
(5 years and 497 days ago)The amputation of the man on the left is troubling visually, but I do believe you already know that. The title and photo are humourous.
(5 years and 497 days ago)They were taken in by you and your camera. The photo is "not talking much" to the viewer either and what is the hook to grab the viewer...the engines, the static appearance of people. The image, however, is really crisp with technical prowess shown by the photographer, technically it is rich.
(5 years and 497 days ago)good one. He could be a bit sharper (faster shutter speed needed)...or the alternative would be to really blur him to show the shake but this is betweext and between. I like the gentle sepia tint to take us back in the time machine to another time.
(5 years and 497 days ago)S L A M D U N K CONGRATS.
(5 years and 497 days ago)I really liked the thinking behind this photograph, frankly, I like the way you think when you shoot! Creative.
(5 years and 497 days ago)Unique cup deserves to be number one!
(5 years and 497 days ago)Congrats on your win !
(5 years and 497 days ago)good one.
(5 years and 500 days ago)a happy snappy photo of red and white.
(5 years and 500 days ago)Ought to do well in this contest. clear and red and white.
(5 years and 500 days ago)I will try to remember this because forever I have problems cutting out hair. Thank you.
(5 years and 501 days ago)Groan groan groan....
(5 years and 501 days ago)Members like Skyangel and BWR frighten the beegeebees outta me, their work is stellar and I just "fave" their pieces, study them, sometimes write to them to get more in depth responses, which they always give. Slowly, some day ! Thank you for your encouragement.
(5 years and 501 days ago)Your escape from misery adds to my misery recognizing how limited I am in creativity when it comes to chop and paste and manipulate as you have done. I come to this side of the site and get stimulated, inspired and encouraged and your work has done that for me....so thank you....
(5 years and 501 days ago)Again, I will try hard not to GUSH. I studied your SBS with interest and want to say that I've looked for flaws that I could critique or help you with ( )
(5 years and 501 days ago)but this is quite perfect in my eyes. You have shadows from the legs done realistically. The tail from the cat in front could be lost (to my puerile eyes) but that is just me. Thank you for your SBS which is a lesson and education for me.
YOU DREW THIS !?! Did you use a WACOM tablet. I would not have minded to see a bit more detail of background as the clipping (block ups) detracts and could be used as a great "backup singers" tool. There appears to be some incongruity around the tail. You have the shadow down pat, but parts look pasted on. The colour palette used gives a cool feel.
