I like this and get the idiom. The basket are the blue cartons....in a non English speaking country they are called baskets. Good one.
(5 years and 670 days ago)I think a bit of a tighter crop at the sides would have enhanced this photo, although the "gold" does titillate. You have fantasticated this image well with exposure and saturation.
(5 years and 670 days ago)A heartwarming shot and the fact one of the fellows is looking at us (you) connects us more closely to the photo.
(5 years and 670 days ago)Like the darkness of this which frames and highlights the good pieces which are delicious eye candy.
(5 years and 670 days ago)Bwahhhhhhhh I know that phrase and this upload really shows the fuss. A great idiom and great image.
(5 years and 670 days ago)...and just to the right is the Stupa I know. Just pulling your leg. (hey that is a good idiom)
(5 years and 670 days ago)Like this one much much better. You will do well.
(5 years and 670 days ago)Kerala, India. Sri Lanka, Mumbai, Rishikesh, Toronto! ?
(5 years and 670 days ago)Very classy set up and it is very welcoming. This has been well fantasticated by you and your artistic eyes. The shallow dof provides a sharp focal point but the whispers of the background support the whole image entirely. Lovely, I'm coming over.
(5 years and 670 days ago)I absolutely love stumbling across scenes like this and how wonderful that you captured this magical and brought it to us. I love the mood, the softness, the detail of the drops. THANK YOU.
(5 years and 670 days ago)Nepal?
(5 years and 670 days ago)Ahhh Canon POwershot. You have a lot of noise on this image, also it is quite blurred. I do like the thinking you have put in behind this shot. You saw the beauty of the reflected stained glass and the people also add meat to the story, but take away from the focal point which is stained glass. I was in this same place as well...must hunt out my stock of images. THANK YOU
(5 years and 671 days ago)Oh so British and b.w is great. The fact that they are oblivious to your presence adds a natural feel of two fellas enjoying their friendship over a cuppa. Do you think you might have a wee bit of a tilt to the left with this upload? You might want to straighten that out before the voting starts.
(5 years and 671 days ago)HA HA HA HA HA....I love this and why in heaven's name do I want to kiss him? Thank you for bringing a laugh to my heart this morning. This is a good photograph because sometimes in photography one not only sees an image, one can feel it....and his warm breath is what I can feel!
(5 years and 671 days ago)I am not familiar with that idiom. At first I thought you had photoshopped this face into the tree, what a grand mystery this photo is. Technical are good from exposure, to sharpness.
(5 years and 671 days ago)Yes, to b/w for it shows the textural quality well. Somehow your photo feels 'squashed' and for my eyes needs more marginal space all round, but you surely have focused well on the bridge.
(5 years and 671 days ago)Raining hats and I instantly thought of "raining cats and dogs"...LOL The multitude of hats works for me but those shadows cast do draw on our eyes.
(5 years and 671 days ago)I didn't know that idiom but it is good to know it now because I can apply it to a few friends of mine. You have really nice sharpness on the horse and his teeth and we can hear him laughing. The crop is apprpopriate and your dof is perfect.
(5 years and 671 days ago)Great idiom and what a catch. Keeping the ads in full view adds to that "urban" confused, third world feel. I like this shot for the humour. Technically it is a nice sharp image with natural saturation and good exposure shown.
(5 years and 671 days ago)OH I would love to come over for tea and a session on Photoshoppe techniques to learn from you my dear creative friend.....scones but please include the clotted cream. I WISH.
(5 years and 672 days ago)Your still life brings a smile to our faces, the cat ate the fish and it is a tea strainer...unique. The photo tells us a bit about you, as photography usually lets secrets out about the photographer. We see you have a genteel taste towards tea which comes from Guillin. The image itself is well balanced, good marginal space all around, it is sharp and well focused. Your colour palette has been thought through and is warm...in hues of orange which predominate, yellows which excite all against an indigo blue background which doesn't rob the shot but instead supports it well. A "delicious" photo replete with a bouquet of aroma. When can I come over and do you serve scones and clotted cream/jam with that?
(5 years and 672 days ago)There are a few things I really like about your post. The artistry in your composition and usage of d.o.f. is brilliant and the white blow outs work to enhance mystery and focus on the tea. I think we need to have a "blow outs" contest because this photo is a great example of how "blow outs" work to strengthen a photograph. Thank you for this post for it has got me thinking (and that is a rare occurrence lately).
(5 years and 672 days ago)I really like how you have captured all the patterns into the entire frame. The fact you are standing at an angle gives us even more patterns and eliminates the harsh glow of lights. Have you tried to have fun with this photo and push it into high contrast black and white? I think a nice small black frame would have worked to hold our eye inside of this image. We were in Croatia, never saw this, probably because I forgot to look up!
(5 years and 672 days ago)Ohhhhh Patty Patty, how wrong you are....I have MUCH to learn that is why I am here. Yes, Brian I agree with your comment.
(5 years and 673 days ago)YAYAYAYAYAY nice Brian, congrats.
(5 years and 673 days ago)There IS GLORY,.....let me tell you why! You have inspired many a peon (namely me) to see the world differently and for that ....honey you score 100%......so there. Thank you for being here and inspiring us with your work.
(5 years and 674 days ago)You have a wild and wonderful imagination. May I borrow your frontal right cortex, please? (the right side of the brain)
(5 years and 674 days ago)Patty, would you please review , I would love to learn from you and your take on how to see the world around us. Thank you for speaking to me.
(5 years and 674 days ago)Felicitations....I loved this shot.
(5 years and 674 days ago)Patty, I just put both my hands on either side of your photo...to the pillars, but keep the two women in....do this and see what happens! I really liked this shot...makes me want to go there.
(5 years and 674 days ago)My better half and me think this is photo exhibition material Adam!
(5 years and 674 days ago)YIKES a quadruple crown....FELICITATIONS
(5 years and 674 days ago)CONGRATS mon chou.
(5 years and 674 days ago)I just knew in my bones that this would come out on top...CONGRATULATIONS Sylvie.
(5 years and 674 days ago)Yes, it's a nice site but rather narrow minded as they do not give free breathing room for photos/art such a dog meat...on another site anything goes. It is what it is...and best of all it is free with nice prizes, just wish more people would review.
(5 years and 674 days ago)I like the marginal space at top, glad you didn't crop too much.
(5 years and 675 days ago)Creative thought went into this one. Nice work.
(5 years and 675 days ago);-O
(5 years and 675 days ago)I was here, now why did I miss this shot....grrrrr. Lovely balance and patterns.
(5 years and 675 days ago)I bet you are kicking yourself for not putting this into stained glass contest...hope you have more, this is wonderful.
(5 years and 675 days ago)Good one, good eye, nice colours, just a delightful shot.
(5 years and 675 days ago)Went here but didn't go on this walkabout. Should have....grrrrrr. Nice catch.
(5 years and 675 days ago)Ahh this was such a lovely trip for us and we were here. Taking it into monochrome was perfect and you show a grand gray tonality. Like it.
(5 years and 675 days ago)Patterns are lovely in this take. Nicely seen and shot.
(5 years and 675 days ago)I've seen this somewhere before and it still looks just as great as before...top notch
(5 years and 675 days ago)Centered well, those two black draped women add so much mystery, great catch.
(5 years and 675 days ago)purrrrfect for mood, clarity, colour palette, technical expertise shown...this is grrrrrrrrreat.
(5 years and 675 days ago)See that black hue in the lower L corner? It distracts somewhat. I love seeing the two people walking in this scene, it makes me want to go there.
(5 years and 675 days ago)I really like this one, you have a good eye to see beauty and this picture proves it!
