LOVE THIS....she is magical and with that shade of purple on her face and stars we are transported into another realm. Especially wonderful is her connection with the photographer. This is an endearing photograph with technical elements all in place. I bet it will win this contest.
(5 years and 683 days ago)I live in the land of orchids. Now why couldn't I have thought of this....ahhhh. Perfect. Top marks for you .
(5 years and 683 days ago)How fragile this beautiful world is and your image reminds us of the beauty and fragility that surrounds us. It is too bad the bug is not in focus but we get the feeling. Very nice.
(5 years and 683 days ago)Awww love it. A bit tighter crop would work well but overall I love this and our photography teachers used to tell us never to shoot anything from behind...well they are all full of bull-dunk you have proved them wrong.
(5 years and 683 days ago)Yes to this. Love the softness but sharp on eyes. Love the off centered placement, the gentle look on the face, the warm warm warm colours. REally a very lovely portrait....I hope you gave her a copy of this.
(5 years and 683 days ago)Staged and well done. You have found a great character to shoot and wow what a story this tells. She hears the beat of a different drummer and there is no foolin around. I like this for the story, the look of the model, the colour palette, the light from the window...heck I like everything about this shot.
(5 years and 683 days ago)Nicki, you are one sweet looking young lady! You are following HC BRESSON who used to amputate heads, limbs etc. The white cast on this is distracting.
(5 years and 683 days ago)Ohhhh I like this. I love the closeness one feels upon looking at your portrait the mystery of why and all the technical elements are well done too.
(5 years and 683 days ago)I wish I could tell you on how to improve this image...I CAN"T...beautiful in sepia, showing great skin tones, diffused background and I think the crop is perfect with her looking into all that negative space. This is a well thought out image with technical elements nicely handled.
(5 years and 683 days ago)Well seen and well executed. You could also crop out the entire L section and just have her melting into black...I know it is all about artistic prerogative and I bow to yours. Nice and sharp, good communication between photographer and subject and I love her black black black eyes.
(5 years and 683 days ago)Sharp on the eyes GOOD. I do think a bit of skin softener would enhance this beautiful face. I can feel my eyes fighting between her eyes and those teeth back and forth and back and forth. Nice dof and the pose is very comfortable. Crop is appropriate with marginal space.
(5 years and 683 days ago)I like this shot a lot and it is because of the warm smile he has to the photographer, a comfortable feel in this. You have done well to keep the bike in place as it is about him and the story is richer. Your tonal qualities are really nicely handled as well. YOu have black and white with many gray tones that add lustre. The image is sharp "as a woman's tongue". You get high marks from me on this one.
(5 years and 683 days ago)This is a very nice catch however it is blurred and out of focus. When shooting portraiture it is imperative to have sharpness on the eyes, then all other sins are quickly forgiven.
(5 years and 683 days ago)Nice, no hot spots, no red eyes well done. I like the portrait orientation as well and the non obstructive background. Her pose is comfortable, natural.
(5 years and 683 days ago)Glad to know you didn't jump as you would have caught a bad skin infection with the state of the dirt in the pool.....ewwwww and ick. The photo is a good one tho'.
(5 years and 683 days ago)I like the way the bridge in the distance catches our eye.
(5 years and 683 days ago)Cool shot but you do have noise and tilt on this image.
(5 years and 683 days ago)Nice colourful image. A happy snappy photograph that is great for the family album.
(5 years and 683 days ago)I love this contest as we get to go to places I've never been before. A very lovely rural upload with a path given to the viewer that we can walk upon and that leads us to a homestead. Makes one wonder what these peoples lives are all about. Your image is clear and full of story and texture. Wish you would have given us a hint of where this part of the world is located....let me guess. Rural Europe?
(5 years and 684 days ago)I sure hope more members offer suggestions like this, that way we can all get better at our craft. I know "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" and some are hesitant to give reviews, but every little bit helps....and the receiver doesn't always have to agree with the reviewer.
(5 years and 685 days ago)Yes, I saw that ship, didn't know it was a cruise ship tho'.
(5 years and 686 days ago)I agree with the above comment...that Moulins a herbes costing 8 Euros is truly distracting and robs your otherwise very strong image.
(5 years and 686 days ago)I like this one a lot it is visually very exciting. It is too bad you have some hot spots of complete blow outs but sometimes even the camera sees blows outs like our eyes do too.
(5 years and 686 days ago)OHhhh Lordie Lordie Lordie....how we talk about bread in Poland to this day. So inexpensive and so darned good. Like everything about this shot, especially since it resurrects so many memories for me (almost did a typing error and called it mamaries....he he he h). Yes, I agree with the pole statement but it does not bother me as the majority of the girl is in the photo. I really like the colour palette of warm oranges, yellows....sort of like the bread....warm and life giving.
(5 years and 686 days ago)Oh that old woman is scary looking, hope I don't look like that when I get older...ewwww. I think your photo could use more exposure to brighten it somewhat. The cyclist draws on our attention....a rather generous derriere. Nice photo just needs some sparkle.
(5 years and 686 days ago)Rock solid image full of eye catching patterns that delight. Your contrast is excellent as is the expsure giving good detail. Nice one this.
(5 years and 686 days ago)You need to title your photos not only Entry number 105764. Nicely seen this shot, again has that exotica feel to it. Like the motorcycle in the corner, thought it might be you!
(5 years and 686 days ago)Most won't know what those plastic bags are doing dead center of this stall. The hanging wire is lost due to movement and the meat has a look of artist filter on it. Did you use oil paint filter? Anyhow, it's a nice and warm photograph with connection of subject to viewer.
(5 years and 686 days ago)Like this one in b.w good choice. That calendar is a dead giveaway as to location and aritst (wink). Very exotic.
(5 years and 686 days ago)Nice work, the face does give a feeling of it painted on not like your baby mundo face. I like the colours here....fun.
(5 years and 686 days ago)Naw, not so creepy! Well OK OK OK ...maybe a bit. You did a great job of blending, you did fool me and that means photoshop work WELL DONE .
(5 years and 686 days ago)Yes, I agree, those sensor spots do detract from those electrifying eyes coming out of your head! Great imagination and I really like this one.
(5 years and 686 days ago)this caused me to laugh out loud. I LOVE IT. It sits somewhere between cute and disastrous.
(5 years and 686 days ago)this is a very classy photo of you and the imagination rocks . I like it a lot.
(5 years and 686 days ago)Wonderful imagination shown here. Thank you.
(5 years and 686 days ago)Excellent. Professional looking. Great visual impact. Makes me want to go there. Wonderful photography, congratulations on this shot.
(5 years and 686 days ago)A happy snappy photograph great for the family album and remembering this moment. Your two look a bit blurred but it could be a strong wind.
(5 years and 686 days ago)I just checked your horizon line and it does dip a tad to the L. Overall this is almost otherworldly, sci-fi....the city looks like it will eat your soul and the palm trees on the side give you a place to heal from stresses. This is a wonderful juxtaposition image. Thank you.
(5 years and 686 days ago)EGADS this is really lovely. I love the colours and the night shot...makes it rather romantic...you romantic you.
(5 years and 686 days ago)me too ...moi aussi.
(5 years and 688 days ago)Lovely CONGRATS First and second....good going.
(5 years and 688 days ago).....congrats.
(5 years and 688 days ago)My chou chou CONGRATS
(5 years and 688 days ago)Congrats Dimity....
(5 years and 688 days ago)We have t-shirts selling here that say "different but same same".
(5 years and 689 days ago)Hi, why did you use such a shallow dof? Try f16 and up your ISO because you have a tripod so long exposure would work unless you have a breeze blowing then you are out of luck.
(5 years and 689 days ago)Y'know, every time we travel out of Thailand we get American Bills. Countries we travel to, like China, Nepal, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Borneo will not accept old bills, they all have to be clean, with no writing and spanking new....what a pain.
(5 years and 690 days ago)My mom and dad used to do that...now I do it too. It's from the 'old country'. It works for me everytime...YOU WILL have good luck, honest.
(5 years and 690 days ago)There is always another side to the coin I must remember that...Thank you.
(5 years and 690 days ago)Yes, I had trouble with them but watched a you tube that told me to clone em out. Seams...joint marks...same same.
