49C....yes, that shows with the people at the bottom, half melted and now I can see the sweat. I'm surprised your camera didn't explode! Did you see the documentary on Global Warming showing the asphalt melting on the roads and the Indian people with their flip flops getting stuck on the asphalt! Thank you for opening up my eyes to this Wagah Ceremony and enlightening me. Gracias, Merci, Khop Khun mak khaa, Dyakoyou, Arigato.
(5 years and 700 days ago)Oh DANG....wish you had some artist's notes on this interesting photograph. What is going on? Never mind, I just asked Uncle Google and did you know a suicide bomber blew himself up at this ceremony in 2014...good thing you weren't there. Well, I love everything Indian from Masala Dosa to Gurus to this colourful uniform. The ceremony itself has a lot more sparkle to it than this posed picture shows and that would have been a great catch....alas, here is a posed photo of a uniform. Clear and sharp and much mystery about the story is present. Nice entry.
(5 years and 700 days ago)AND.....I also think that you did a great job on exposure...you have NO blow outs on the white...KUDOS.
(5 years and 700 days ago)"Mai pben rai"
(5 years and 700 days ago)HOLY GUACAMOLE ! ! ! ! ! OK you all know how much I admire your talent at creating photoshop images. This rocks. I mean it is clear, we get the message, it feels natural and I know you worked in many layers and steps but the beauty (to me) seems that it was done with ease. You certainly have inspired me to possibly look at the link and maybe....just maybe....try something this cool January day.
(5 years and 700 days ago)Ewwww a good photo and a scary photo of impending doom (flood). You have a lot going on in this shot and you caught our attention. The high tide can be seen, the sand bags, the concern of the coast guards and a photo op for one of them. I like this in b/w rendition because colour would have distracted from the intensity of emotion. Technically sharp, nicely composed and full of story. Love it.
(5 years and 700 days ago)This is not easy, to stand there, carrying so much weight, on your feet for many hours. I really like how you captured the environment, that gate, parts of the building all add life to this image. It is a well-balanced shot, no lean, nice marginal space all around. Very good entry for this contest.
(5 years and 700 days ago)What is nice about this black and white image is that you caught many patterns that delight us visually. However, the emotive aspect, the fact that the police are doing zilch except walking weakens the story element. Technically it is nice and sharp ...but lacking in OH WOW.
(5 years and 700 days ago)...........and I forgot to add. I want to marry him and live in chocolate heaven.
(5 years and 700 days ago)This is a well composed photograph which includes the entire uniform. Visually he is framed between two dark hued objects and that makes him stand out even more. Sharp, clear technically nicely handled. Not FAIR at all...I live in Thailand and do not have a shot like this but thanks to you, your image has inspired me to find the photograph I'm missing. Thank you.
(5 years and 700 days ago)I like this photograph because I find it to be emotion grabbing. We cannot help but get involved in the thoughts of that one soldier who is remembering something, something that sparks our imagination. I also like the DOF you used with softening the other two yet making them seen, they too are remembering. You have composed them to the side giving plenty of space at the right. I wonder had you cropped a bit tighter if our engagement with them would have proven to be even stronger than it is right now. Lovely. Top marks.
(5 years and 700 days ago)Nice portrait but really soft. We need to see the wrinkles, character lines and also there is a lot of noise on this image, it could be because you zoomed it from across the channel LOL! There is a nice emotive aspect to your shot and I do like it.
(5 years and 700 days ago)LOVE IT...perfect for this contest you will do well. A suggestion would be to go into your shadow/highlight lever and bring out the shadows on their faces a bit more for more pizzzazzzz. Still this is lovely.
(5 years and 700 days ago)Something quite serious is going down and with those uniforms we feel the impact of 'serious'.Is this as sharp as it can be? .........or do I have to visit my opthalmologist? Nice shot.
(5 years and 700 days ago)Oh so Thailand. I love it...you caught the shyness of these girls and have given personality to the image.
(5 years and 700 days ago)This feels like MY photo, after all I live here in Thailand. This is very well done although you nipped off the top of his hat, but that is neither here nor there. Nicely framed. The print of the sign gives it a more exotica feel. Technically lovely.
(5 years and 700 days ago)I like his intensity and how he is almost oblivious of you. Technically a nicely composed image. I'm happy to see this.
(5 years and 700 days ago)Great in high contrast, really a shockingly good image.
(5 years and 732 days ago)WOW image, nice work.
(5 years and 732 days ago)Love that desolate feel...love the minimalist feel. Good eyes, good shot.
(5 years and 732 days ago)Good POV and you knew this too.
(5 years and 732 days ago)Yeah, good eyes, great catch....love it and I loved Croatia too.
(5 years and 732 days ago)Tremendous idea to change to b/w it is like an explosion for the eyes...gorgeous details well caught. This photo is a great example of when blow outs work to the advantage of the artist!
(5 years and 732 days ago)Can I come over? I don't think I have ever had Risotto....imagine that! Yum...and a nice portion too.
(5 years and 732 days ago)Oh you have such a way with food....amongst other things. I betcha you were constipated for a week following this meal. A really good picture.
(5 years and 732 days ago)I would be disappointed with the amount, very very very disappointed....however the picture is good.
(5 years and 732 days ago)OH GAWD spare me....I'm salivating like Pavlov's dogs. YUM
(5 years and 732 days ago)Nicely punched out in post processing, easy to see, easier to eat. I'm coming over.
(5 years and 732 days ago)I bet this is through the roof expensive as FRELL.
(5 years and 732 days ago)Hmmm how horrible, the last time I molested an alligator had a bubbly time....now we can't even do that ! Harumph.
(5 years and 732 days ago)Your title says it all and marries so well with this sad sad sad picture.
(5 years and 732 days ago)Love it.
(5 years and 732 days ago)Ha, love it.
(5 years and 732 days ago)Hey mon cherie....felicitations...a good one. I'm jealous.
(5 years and 736 days ago)Hey, YOU WON...chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp.
(5 years and 736 days ago)I showed my husband your work (he is so LEFT brained it hurts) and HE LAUGHED and said "HEY PRETTY GOOD". And to get a rise outta him is a miracle.
ha.
Thank you for that, appreciated.
(5 years and 738 days ago)giggle giggle giggle....ahhh we all walk this path just once....sigh.
(5 years and 738 days ago)Isn't the internet amazing? I went there and found a Pizza place just up the bend...ha ha ha ha....I always find food. Mercie for the link
(5 years and 738 days ago)Good grief this is good. Did you know that the sparrow is one of the smartest birds and they have captains and warriors, just like you depicted. (I learned that from a documentary I watched years ago)
(5 years and 739 days ago)I love the story here. brought a giggle to my face.
(5 years and 739 days ago)You have taken my breath away with this post. WOW. Thank you for explaining it.
(5 years and 739 days ago)Top notch action shot and look at the colour palette, it is perfect...red green and it is an autumnal day. Good eyes.
(5 years and 739 days ago)Hmmm where have I seen him before. You have a lot of noise on this and he's soft but maybe you put the grain there. Determination well caught.
(5 years and 739 days ago)Love that determined expression on her face...nice catch, good shutter speed....the colour palette rocks.
(5 years and 739 days ago)Needs more action but all the technical is in place.
(5 years and 739 days ago)Naw, I don't agree with cropping it more, I like that wave in the background, it makes us worry for that little surfer.
(5 years and 739 days ago)KAZAAAAM sharp as a woman's tongue, terrific photo. In our photo club, we have a Nat Geo photographer that went to Korea to do a shoot. When he came back he showed us his images and he tilted many. I think you could tilt this outta the world and it would really look fantabulous, even more!
(5 years and 739 days ago)Beautiful tonal ranges, nicely caught, good shutter speed....a winner.
(5 years and 739 days ago)This is super creative and to see this takes a photographic artist...and this is really well caught. I wouldn't mind hanging this one on my wall.
(5 years and 739 days ago)Top notch. This is an ingenious piece full of creative prowess. To see this and shoot it takes an artistic photographer and you are IT. To me, I would hang this on my wall. It is Brilliant.
