Nice catch but you do have a couple of dust spots on your sensor.
(5 years and 903 days ago)His "plats" look like art. The prices are high high high, but I suppose that is normal for Europe and high class establishments.
(5 years and 905 days ago)Felicitations and congratulations mon amie.
(5 years and 905 days ago)I hope you are chuffed. big congrats to YOU
(5 years and 905 days ago)Yup, I understand
(5 years and 908 days ago)Clearly you have an artistic bend. Love this.
(5 years and 908 days ago)Like it....nice nice nice.
(5 years and 908 days ago)Another great shot...wow.
(5 years and 908 days ago)Great stop action, sharp and clear, perfect shutter speed.
(5 years and 908 days ago)Lovely, just lovely.
(5 years and 908 days ago)Perfect for this contest. What a contrast and not only in the subject matter but throughout the well rendered photograph. Your tonal ranges are spot on with white to black. The focus is spot on, you have no technical distractions...your choice of monotone keeps us focused on opposites versus on colour (smooth move)...the light is good and your could have overexposed because of the time of day (harsh contrast) but you didn't ...you knew what you were doing and it shows. Top of the shelf.
(5 years and 909 days ago)Bahhhh me thinkest thou art splitting the proverbial hairs.
(5 years and 910 days ago)Makes me laugh out loud. You have a bit of blow outs on the rumps but I do like the compositional style.
(5 years and 911 days ago)So much detail to enjoy. I like your crop and that we don't see to where they are going as it infuses the image with mystery. The way mood is evoked through stillness is magical. The colour and detail has been done well. This photograph makes me wish I could be there enjoying the moment. Well done.
(5 years and 911 days ago)How warm and wonderful is the feeling to this image. The white advertisement in the left hand corner is having a visual fight with the fireplace aspect of image and is crying for attention which clears the air for the viewer and adds vital information. Many visual elements to study here in this very busy "kuchyna".
(5 years and 911 days ago)Transports people, and YAWZAAAAA a great shot. Love the sepia tones.
(5 years and 911 days ago)Appreciate that added information. A good shot, clear, simple, easy to understand, natural colour.
(5 years and 911 days ago)Yeah....I like this sharp clear to the point, simple and strong.
(5 years and 911 days ago)Like this one with the small boats in the foreground adding interest. Nice technical elements are well rendered.
(5 years and 911 days ago)They are both looking at you COOL! I really like the bit of blur on the horse too and I know others would shake their heads at that but to me it makes the photo. Nice one this.
(5 years and 911 days ago)Sharp , clear as a bell, love that bird in the corner. Natural and unpretentious shot.
(5 years and 911 days ago)Love the POV in this one...what we don't do to get the photo at the risk of life and limb LOL
(5 years and 911 days ago)Visually quite an exciting photograph (Laos? or Cambodia?). I really like your POV and makes me wonder from whence you took this. Nice and sharp and technically well done...it is a good memory photograph.
(5 years and 911 days ago)I liked this one too and congratulations Brian, good eyes.
(5 years and 911 days ago)Hey, I just saw this...big CONGRATS to you. 3 white men and an Asian...cool.
(5 years and 911 days ago)Congratulations. Are you bringing all of that to Chiang Mai?
(5 years and 911 days ago)A nice memory photograph of a trip taken somewhere in Europe ...(those sausages?)
(5 years and 912 days ago)Night time / evening time darkness yet the image is sharp and we can see you thought about the composition.
I am really troubled that there is no sink or basin to catch the water. This is a nicely staged image and your photographic skills bring it to life. Please check the level as there may be a tilt to the right. Love the detail in the milk bottles that still have a hint of what they contained on them. This image speaks of a simpler time, a more gentle time. Nice honey hues give added warmth to the warmth of the sun rays coming through your window.
(5 years and 912 days ago)I really like the shadow light play reminiscent of chiaroscuro effect. Also, the grunge and details are wonderful the textures are felt. Did you know that during these times the did not drink water because they thought it was dirty so it was only ale and liquor and they ate from lead based dishes which gave them lead poisoning....and made them sick. Sorry, I'm rambling but your image is great and isn't that the whole purpose of photography....story telling. Nice one.
(5 years and 912 days ago)Someone's kitchen and that backsplash adds to the kitcheny feel. (I know that is not a word). Nice and sharp, full of delightful colour but a bit of a nip at the right...a bit tight could use a bit more marginal space.
(5 years and 912 days ago)You needed to tell her she was beautiful (and she probably was), although many an older woman shy away from the camera as they look their age (old). This kitchen has a nice warm feel to it, it feels like I've just come "home" and I bet the food was to die for. Nice and sharp and interesting too, not your usual "kitchen".
(5 years and 912 days ago)What a sweet photograph (pun intended). Totally absorbed they are into what they are doing and thusly the viewer gets absorbed. You flashed this shot and did well with no blow outs showing but the skin tones look wonderful. A great shot for the family album as this is what memories are made of.
(5 years and 912 days ago)This is the kind of photograph we giggle along with, nice of you to catch her at the height of her joy. A bird wanting some lunch as well completes this happy tale. A great photograph for the family album.
(5 years and 912 days ago)tHANK YOU
(5 years and 912 days ago)Ahhh haaaa....told you this was a winner. Congrats.
(5 years and 912 days ago)Hallelujah
(5 years and 912 days ago)Impossible.....good? LOL
(5 years and 912 days ago)Love your dof which was wisely and artistically done. The green peas sharp the food handler soft adds to the story. A bit of a nip at the right margin cutting off the container of peas.
(5 years and 913 days ago)There is something so pleasing about a plump chef, somehow makes him real and I would want to dine in this establishment. A nice photograph with focus on the food and softness on the "soft" chef.
(5 years and 913 days ago)I really am drawn to the post processing of this photograph. I am a sucker for grunge and that texture comes through. Do make sure your photograph is level, I think it is, but just make sure it isn't leaning to the left. Sharp, clear, and of historical value (don't laugh)....in 100 years I can hear someone saying "wow look what they wore." I also think this image would look great in monochrome.
(5 years and 913 days ago)I just had a lot of fun cropping your image down. I love the patterns caught, the reflections and of course your title. Nice colour saturation, honest image.
(5 years and 913 days ago)Nice solid presentation. I love the texture caught (all thanks to your exposure settings), good crop and the colour is warm and inviting.
(5 years and 913 days ago)You have really good detail on the statues, nice exposure. Try changing your POV as this looks like a happy snappy photo by that I mean if I was walking with you on this day, and looked over at these statues I would see exactly what you have shot. You need to try to catapult the image over and above the ordinary...so bend your knees, lie down on your tummy (yes I'm serious)...do something to change the image from ordinary into extraordinary. Thank you for bringing your images to us...they remind me that I want to travel to India, Sri Lanka soon.
(5 years and 913 days ago)I love the story of "somewhere exotic" with your photograph. The way you have cropped it is tight and to the point and we see instantly what you wanted to show. I would suggest you crop in at the right because that flower on the margin is asking for too much attention and is stealing from your shot. If you have a bit more room to give to the bottom it would be better as the garlands are quite tight. Cropping is an artistic tool, use it wisely and now that I have said that, perhaps the artist in you wanted it this way, so I bow to your artistic prerogative.
(5 years and 913 days ago)The meerkats on high resolution do look sharper. Something has caught their attention and that creates mystery for us as we wonder what it could possibly be. You do have some blow outs on the image and I'm wondering if you used A instead of Manual mode. If you are still shooting in A do switch as it will give you more creative power.
(5 years and 913 days ago)Centered framing gives a steady feel but had you composed it with more room to travel into the image would have had a movement feel to it...it's all about artistic prerogative, I bow to yours. A peaceful shot, taken on a hazy diffused low light day.
(5 years and 913 days ago)G R O A N on the joke! That is what this site needs, more humour! I love this not only for the joke but for the colour of yellow and blue. You have it nicely cropped, the image is sharp "as a woman's tongue" simple , strong.
(5 years and 913 days ago)Good for you to see this...and to photograph it. Do make sure it is level. I think it is but just make sure...OK.
(5 years and 913 days ago)This is the kind of photo that makes one feel comfortable with those gorgeous colours and details shown. Could use a bit more marginal space on the left but we enjoy the image clearly.
(5 years and 913 days ago)Terrific stop action shot, crisp and clear and makes the hairs on our backs stand up. Thank you for the information in your "description" section. What was your shutter speed on this...and ISO? Thank you.
