Reddish hues (hot hot hot) in the cold cold cold snow. How simply perfect and the sharpness and technical excellence is seen. POV engaging and dof artistic. Top notch work.
(5 years and 972 days ago)Grass being the secondary focal anchor with flowers stealing the show in this beautifully rendered artistic presentation. A warm day, breezes and happiness abound. Your image buoys our hearts.
(5 years and 972 days ago)This is well done, I'm looking for overexposure on white and can't find any. Nice one.
(5 years and 972 days ago)This is a grand environmental portrait and I love the warmth that the colours generate and the warmth of that face. Good one. Have you considered a portrait format?
(5 years and 972 days ago)A handsome boy indeed. A different composition, giving him more room to flow into (following rule of 3 in photography) would strengthen the shot. A few pops of overexposure evident. Are you shooting on A mode or Manual? Do try manual, just bite the bullet and you will see your creative powers will increase.
(5 years and 972 days ago)Lovely, gentle, sweet. Like this portrait a lot but do feel it could be sharper and more tonal values applied to make it jump out at us even more.
(5 years and 972 days ago)Lovely, gentle, sweet. Like this portrait a lot but do feel it could be sharper and more tonal values applied to make it jump out at us even more.
(5 years and 972 days ago)Yes, and you got something different and artistic and love the fact of the soldier standing in the background which acts as icing on a well baked cake. Part of me wants to see more of the guns instead of just the tips but that is all about artistic license.
(5 years and 972 days ago)I bet you were excited to capture this photograph. Shot against the sky the geese really pop out nicely and the three is the magic number our brains love. Don't know if you know this but geese mate for life!
(5 years and 972 days ago)Like your composition giving room to breathe. Also you shot this at exactly the right moment. The tonal contrast could be stronger tho' to give it a richer feel.
(5 years and 972 days ago)Ahhh I see I was wrong. I thought you were someone else....who also would use Cyrillic lettering.
(5 years and 972 days ago)You give yourself away with the Cyrillic lettering. I really like this post however you do have quite a bit of noise, putting it through a denoise filter would benefit the image however, it would also soften it somewhat and sadly this is already soft. I really like the way you put the light source on and kept the other part in darkness, it is the way of the world.
(5 years and 972 days ago)Because you have cleverly placed the glasses near a skin coloured background this photograph fools us and made me look harder, your technique kept me in your photograph. The diagonal composition provides dynamism and the glasses looking out of the frame further adds a story. Very nice.
(5 years and 972 days ago)I can see that you worked on this image. This is not a photograph taken, it is a photograph made and you presented an artistic rendition of glasses. This is a time when blow outs work artistically and the white magnifies the stem of the glass. Very cleverly done. Monochrome was the way to go with this.
(5 years and 972 days ago)Geese mate for life which has nothing to do with a review of the photograph. Like the long format showing the birds' environment. A bit of overexposure on white, but the colour palette is natural and unpretentious. Both birds sharp and in focus.
(5 years and 972 days ago)What a difficult photo this was to take. You do not have overexposure on the white showing us that you understand your exposure calibrations. The hopper is prominent, the colours natural and the compositional style excellent. It looks to me like he was there waiting for you and your camera.
(5 years and 972 days ago)You do have a bit of a lean and it is irrelevant because the entire focus is on that handsome brute of a gander. You have done well with the dof and the other chickens in the background only give a soft whisper of presence. I like this, the exposure on the gander is perfect as is the sharpness. The border does not scream out at me and compliments the photo in feminine softness.
(5 years and 972 days ago)Great texture on this laughing gargoyle and you have captured that so well. I also think your compositional style is perfect. I am lukewarm about the border, but I have problems with borders, never know if I like them or not. I do think a darker smaller border would have been better and would not have robbed the image of it's beauty but this is your artistic license, so I bow to it..
(5 years and 972 days ago)I like your smart usage of dof which makes the photograph exciting and gives it depth. It is crispy clear at the front and the colours are cold and reflections make this glitter. A very nice entry.
(5 years and 972 days ago)Nice , it is sharp, the pov engages us and the tonal values are good. Light source easily seen and complimentary dof.
(5 years and 972 days ago)Simply lovely in high key processing, try a white vignette, a gentle vignette and see if you like the artistic value.
(5 years and 972 days ago)Dark blue and light blue and a good entry.
(5 years and 972 days ago)I like it too.
(5 years and 974 days ago)Now about that green stripe right across the bottom?! It is an artistic decision on your part to leave it in as it implies we are peeking into this handsome brutes world, it says PRIVATE, do not enter, yet thanks to your lens we have entered. It is artistic license to have left it there. The alternative would be to crop tighter to really show us his personality and this would be possible simply because your focus is dead on sharp. Good exposure with all detail showing and sharpness on the eyes which is critical in portraiture. Try a portrait format too to give him more nobility, which he already possesses. He is a most handsome fellow and looks like he's in love with your lens, or you. Great eye contact. Nice post.
(5 years and 975 days ago)Are you swearing at us "goura sheepmakeri" to you too! Lovely bird, nicely taken sharp and the fact you have come down to her eye level helps the viewer to engage with this image. See that white pop on the bottom? I wonder if you cropped up a bit more, then crop in at the right a bit more if the image would be stronger...try it and see.
(5 years and 975 days ago)The fellow in the green shorts looks skewered onto those pegs and I had a laugh. There may be a confusion of information here, there is a lot and the amputation of a person distracts especially like that on a margin line. When you have objects on a margin line, what happens is that our brains fill in the missing parts and then poof, out we go out of your image. I do however think the story line is superb even if the gypsy is almost giving you the finger! Please check your horizon line which is tilting to the left.
(5 years and 975 days ago)A simple gate with a strong statement thanks to all the supporting greenery and that warm tone is quite exciting. Level, well balanced , nicely seen, sharp, good tonal ranges and nicely contrasted. Looks to me like a piece of heaven.
(5 years and 975 days ago)I think you will fall off your chair when I tell you this. BUT first, thank you for your response and directing me to that powerful statue your teacher designed. Art, (according to Tolstoy) is art when an emotion is pulled out of the viewer.
(5 years and 976 days ago)Now, are you ready for this. ?
I am writing to you from Quang Ngai province, 10 kilometers away from Mi Lay and today we went to the Mi Lay Massacre Memorial. We sat together in the shade of a reconstructed palm thatched roof and talked about the war, the masssacre, the soldiers and the song "The Universal Soldier" has been running through my head (reminds me I must look up the lyrics again).
The present day Vietnamese are kind, generous, helpful. If you get a chance to visit this country do so , it's magical. If you get a chance to watch the musical SAIGON you will love it.
Anyhow bidding you "tambiyat" (means see you again in Vietnamese)
And again, thank you for your help. I'm new to Photoshop Manipulation and everything I see posted here I go ga ga over.
Congrats on winning, it's purrrrrrrrrrrfect.
(5 years and 976 days ago)Aren't you going to tell me how this was born? I'm so new to this and wouldn't mind knowing.
(5 years and 976 days ago)Hey, you got 1st and 2nd...BIG CONGRATS!
(5 years and 976 days ago)Congrats, it is a great shot.
(5 years and 976 days ago)Your imagination blows me outta da vater. This is so clean and perfectly done, really a delight to behold. Thank you.
(5 years and 977 days ago)Sweet, now why couldn't I have thought of that? Where do you get your ideas from, is there something you do, somewhere you go? (a special link). Perfect for a little girl....or a big little girl.
(5 years and 977 days ago)Really a feminine upload, perfect for a little girl who loves to dream of unicorns and believes in them. Love the textured feel.
(5 years and 977 days ago)Another upload on photoshop manipulation that has left me gasping. Where in tarnations did you get the idea for this? Do you troll the sites until something pops into that imaginative gray matter of yours? How was this born. Top notch in my books.
(5 years and 977 days ago)Skillfully done using same textured (tin) objects. Classy feel to it.
(5 years and 977 days ago)When you come to Chiang Mai, you will know who to look for :-0
(5 years and 977 days ago)You are venturing into another genre of photography, that of shrinking with tilt shift effect and I take my hat off to you. You have taken this delightful shot from above which one is supposed to do, but not directly overhead, good shooting or POV for tilt shift. It is also strong because the scene is not a complicated one. I can see your focal point is sharp as a pin and this is so critical...again, you nailed it. People are small and they too are sharp. The lighting is really nice and all I can say is kudos to you. The only bothering element is the obelisk. You have inspired me to try something like this and I would like to thank you very much.
(5 years and 978 days ago)What a delightful jumble of colours that are tossing and turning and making me wonder if you turned this photo upside down. I love being fooled by photography and you have succeeded. Furthermore, the family story that is present is strong with children's bikes and dad has a boat and is perhaps a bit of a carpenter with that saw there. Rich contrast, sharp image a pleasure to review.
(5 years and 978 days ago)Really nice symmetry to this twosome. I would not have minded a bit more marginal space on top. Considering the high bright sunlight shooting off the water you did well with exposure and show no clipping at all on the gondolas. Very nicely done, I hope you are proud of this.
(5 years and 978 days ago)Oh and by the way. .... Titles are really important in gallery showings, they can make or break a sale and are part of the creative process, it is important to title your images to help the viewer along the visual journey...YOU NAILED IT! congrats.
(5 years and 978 days ago)The guy on the right looks like me in the mornings.
(5 years and 978 days ago)That is the artist in you begging to come out.
(5 years and 978 days ago)Try using your tripod, and bracketing by 3 EV rate, blend in Photomatix and have fun.
(5 years and 978 days ago)If only you could hear me sing this review to you ....Gregorian Chant style!
(5 years and 978 days ago)Ahhhh Haaaaa.....aren't I a smart little cookie!
(5 years and 978 days ago)By the way, this is my kinda photo....I'm always looking for art inside of puddles. This shot of yours resonates with me.
(5 years and 978 days ago)How did you get the blue smoke over the cup? I like this photograph for the strong visual impact it has, crisp, clear, easy to understand and there is a story to enjoy.
(5 years and 978 days ago)Hope you never have a stomach ache, but have plenty of blooms!
