Your compositional artistry takes this photograph and pushes it to the top of the pile. Mother Russia and blue and yellow, the colours of the Ukrainian flag make me wonder which part of Russia this was taken in. Your post processing rocks (it always does in all of your photographs, you understand tonal gradations well). What a wonderful story this presents.

(5 years and 1051 days ago)Ahhh St. Pete's so full of history and beauty. This photograph is sharp and worthy of magazine publication. Please check it to see if there is a slight lean to the right. Rich in colour, and composed with the road leading us into the depth of the photo.
(5 years and 1051 days ago)This photograph makes me immediately wish I could be there, it is inviting and you did well in composing it. There is a humble beauty to this image, you could make it more dramatic by punching out the clouds but that is only a suggestion. I like it in it's unpretentious mode too.
(5 years and 1051 days ago)This image looks like art done by Canadian artist Coleville, and that is supposed to be a compliment. Perfectly clear it is photographic art for all it nees is a matte, frame, your signature and a nice place to hang this.
(5 years and 1051 days ago)Ahhh if only "peace and with which all religions should be practiced." A photograph that takes our breath away and your artist's notes cannot help but make us ponder especially in today's time. I wish I had something constructive to say about your image but there is not a thing I would change it is top notch. Congratulations on taking a fine fine image.
(5 years and 1051 days ago)Holy Guacamole, this is good. Without that woman in the photo it still would have been a great shot but with that person there this image skyrockets to the top of the pile.
(5 years and 1051 days ago)Isee thought this to be a pipe for some reason but upon closer inspection we good workmanship and nice shadow which makes the image come alive. Close tight crop...yes. Meow and purrrrrrrrrrrrrfect.
(5 years and 1051 days ago)I like everything about this photograph. The story is clear, as is the photo and her art rocks, it is too bad you sliced off her hands and tools tho'.
(5 years and 1051 days ago)I like the background on this well thought out image. Nice centered placement which works. Warm and comfortable to view.
(5 years and 1051 days ago)Gosh they look overworked and underpaid. Good catch and you did well inspite of the high contrast.
(5 years and 1051 days ago)Pysanky, now why didn't I think of that! A nice snapshot of these eggs which take forever to make by talented Ukrainians!
(5 years and 1051 days ago)Ahhh , thank God!
(5 years and 1051 days ago)Top notch, like this one a lot, no muss, no fuss, we get it right off the bat.
(5 years and 1052 days ago)Well believe it! Congrats on 1, 2, and 3. WOW
(5 years and 1052 days ago)Congrats on this Skyangel.
(5 years and 1052 days ago)Big Congratulations, well deserved.
(5 years and 1052 days ago)Loved it, congrats on your win.

(5 years and 1052 days ago)Congrats, a warm and fuzzy win.
(5 years and 1052 days ago)Sweet sweet sweet, congratulations.
(5 years and 1052 days ago)Hey there congrats, bet you are chuffed!
(5 years and 1052 days ago)Adam, try this in high contrast monochrome and see if you like it better.
(5 years and 1052 days ago)Hurray And congrats. Poetry from Peggy's Cove!
(5 years and 1052 days ago)Most likely you were thrilled to get this shot. It has many delightful features of patterns that repeat both on ceiling and floor and you composed it centered and it works with the strength of the pews. To my eyes, you have too much of a good thing, this is opposite to the KISS principle. From the high ceiling, the star catches our eyes, the ceiling , the lights , the pews, the floor and the focal point are the people? An all encompassing shot with a considered dof and point of view to take this from an ordinary photograph and transport it into the extraordinary. A lot of work went into this.
(5 years and 1052 days ago)Those gravestones in the yard look like a cheerleading group! You do have noise in the photo and if you have a denoise filter your shot would benefit. You did not snap this image, you walked around and tried to find the best composition and it shows for that gate frames the photo well, invites us in and therein lies your story. Nice one.
(5 years and 1052 days ago)There is so much to love about this upload. I like the monochrome for it makes the viewer look deeper and we see 'ghosts' of people and I LOVE THAT, almost spooky. The message on the pew reminds us that there are really THAT MANY sinners around, sigh. Nice photograph that makes us look, ponder, and in the end smile.
(5 years and 1052 days ago)I admire the fact you got so much church into the photo and it is breathtaking. Look on the very L edge of your photo, right on the margin...see that? You have some "debris" leaking into the frame, having pieces of photographic information on the edge like that brings our eyes there and then our brains begin the process of trying to figure out what that could be and before you know it, poof, out we go to the next photograph. You could crop in a touch a be rid of them. I like this church, shows the wealth of this religion.
(5 years and 1052 days ago)Woooaaahhh that is some wonderful post processing. I take my hat off to you for tilting this. We have a Nat Geo photographer in our Photo Club and he did a shoot and tilted many a photo and it works. This works to add excitement to an already exciting image, love that grunge. Especially perfect for my eyes is the light source seen and felt. Sometimes images speak to us, your entry does not speak but echoes. Really top notch.
(5 years and 1052 days ago)What a smile inducing image, what creativity not only on your part for seeing this but on the part of the artist who did this. I like the way you composed this photograph with the bench in the middle, it is an artistic composition. You did nip off part of the limb on the L side (our L) but that is really very slight. A very enjoyable view.
(5 years and 1052 days ago)Oh my goodness, I do wish you had said something about the art of making this as I have never heard of quilling. Your photographic composition is all encomapssing and shows us great detail. It is too bad you have a hot spot in the upper L corner (our L), remember that the natural pathway of the human eye is to always be drawn to the brightest part of the canvas and with that hot spot on the edge there the eye quickly leaves the print. You want to do everything in your power to keep our eyes inside the image. The patterns of this creation do have a magnetic pull on our eyes and the colour palette of red and green , which are contrasting colours on the colour wheel, further enhance this work.
(5 years and 1052 days ago)Showing artistry of the craft. A photograph well taken but would have been more striking had you eliminated the elements which tend to take our eyes away from the sweater, such as the pattern on the floor, the brown patterned material to our L of the frame. With a solid background this beautiful sweater would have jumped off the screen and hit us between the eyes. It is a great entry for the contest.
(5 years and 1052 days ago)Ayyyyy caramba, muy bueno! Straight and forward, easy to spot your focal intention. I do think a richer exposure would have worked to enhance this shot. Consider always shooting underexposed because you can bring out detail better rather than right on exposure (did you shoot this in A mode?). You are not allowed to do this on this site but for TOS you could burn in a bit on the rim of the hat!
(5 years and 1052 days ago)This handicraft photo has it all. You have good composition with leaving part of the wall there that acts as a story enhancer. Your crouched down to shoot this and considered your POV. You saw what would excite the viewer, those colours and patterns. This is a very strong image both artistically and technically.
(5 years and 1052 days ago)Great spontaneous image of an artist totally absorbed and not even minding that gull who is watching her. From her cap, to her intensity of concentration you have taken us into her world, a very private world and we can feel the drive of her creativity, it is that same drive we photographers have as well. You did a spot on job of exposure, good contrast , tightly cropped. This photo brought a smile to my face.
(5 years and 1052 days ago)The only way to shoot this is to fill the frame, anything else would have been a failure for those patterns are what excite us visually. Good technical handling, exposure , contrast. A most pleasant jumble of colours and patterns.
(5 years and 1052 days ago)From to Europe we see these dolls in one shape or another. Well caught in its totality and nice dof with good bokeh. It is too bad you have that hot spot in the upper L hand corner but overall this speaks "arts and crafts".
(5 years and 1052 days ago)This is such a wonderful piece to study and to think how much concentration went into each and every piece. You show the entire orchestra and that further highlights the labour intensive aspect to this handicraft. You shot this with good dof, it is clear and easy to see and that makes it interesting with all those patterns repeating. I also like the compositional angle which strengthens the photograph.
(5 years and 1052 days ago)Congrats on this gorgeous win.
(5 years and 1052 days ago)I try hard to render.
(5 years and 1053 days ago)Could not help myself, just had to laugh. Great imagination and love this creativity. Done with skill.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Crisp and clear this entry made me say "howdedodat"...great imagination, top notch. and nice work. I cannot find any flaws or telltale signs of manipulation.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)I love reviewing these contests. I have been laughing and laughing at these posts and this one just added fuel to the fire. Even my husband had a look and giggled. What great imagination you have.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Ohhhhh so so so so corny that it is gooooood! I couldn't help but laugh. Your imagination and creativity shine and it looks like you put a lot of work into it and have succeeeded.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)This is great, just great. I laughed out loud and your post looks so natural, I always look for telltale signs of manipulation and you have nailed this one. LOVE IT .
(5 years and 1054 days ago)......oops forgot to mention the border. YEs I like it, it works to hold the image in place.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Oh dear oh dear, this is you and you got top notch and thumbs up. The way you make your manipulations look real is quite an achievement. I look for marginal telltale signs and you have none, it really is a well done image and I laughed out loud with this entry.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)This is really well done in the fact that it looks so natural as if real. Your imagination shines through as does your creativity. Top notch in my books.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)When we lived in Moose Factory (near Moosonee, near Timmins) we had an old canvas kayak that kept leaking. It had so many patches on her and eventually she died a slow death, but boy we sure had fun with her.
