Did you hear that joke about the fellow who had a tattoo on his penis with the letters WTJ. The woman who was eyeing this said to him "I see you have your initials tatooed on your penis?" to which he responds "it reads Welcome to Jamaica" when in full bloom. .............or something like that, I'm not very good with remembering jokes. he he he he he..........now I will be thrown off this site for sure.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)groan, I know that feeling. Good shot nonetheless!
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Top notch not only for showing the toy but the creative element is really impressive. This is what this truck does, lumbers through terrain as you have depicted. Your dof is well rendered, the contrast, focus is spot on making a great shot of a toy.....with personality infused.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)"way out of order now in todays society"...that is not so because sadly in Thailand these dolls appear readily as do uniforms of Hitler's brown shirts (very sad). You do have a bit of black clipping through their fur but the shot is very good bringing back memories of how backward our society was back then.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)I wonder how much this clearly shot and handome fellow costs? Any idea? Good solid photo with savy technical handling of exposure. Like that he is looking out of frame and makes us wonder what has caught his eye.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)I cannot help but smile as I review these posts. This is just great but too bad about the hot spots (I do think you know they are there knowing you). Like your sense of humour too, it comes through in your photography.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Ahhh "colours are everywhere" just a happy photo, a tad hot on one spot but the emotive quality is there. sweet.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)I really like the unique entry of this post. A man toy, so true. I also think the tonal quality, that hdr works well and the fact the driver is looking at you (and therefore us) is the icing on a well baked cake. TOP NOTCH.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)A beautifully rendered image. It is clear, easy to study, no background disturbs and photographic information is there to flush out the story. Your technical expertise is evident in contrast, dof, saturation. Good one.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Sheeesh, great eye candy this one, really grabs our eyes. Nice
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Just a simple strong solid image that makes the viewer say "awwwww". Good one. I am a sucker for KISS.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Ahhhh , Ohhhhhhhhh Canada. Good eyes, nicely seen and composed.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Top of the shelf. Just a great capture there dear friend, and my favourite letter
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Good idea to change to monochrome, more impact. YES thumbs up.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Like this one a lot. Good catch, clear and strong and yes the Letter O...my favourite letter!
(5 years and 1054 days ago)A solid photograph, good exposure, your shutter speed froze the flurry of flag well and the compositional style with nice tight crop makes for a pleasant view of your upload.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Thumbs up for this shot. I can hear the song "down the way, where the nights are gay and the sun shines brightly on the mountain tops. I took a trip on a sailing ship and when I reached Jamaica I made a stop". Not only do some photos sing to us they speak to us with visual impact, your shot does.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Soft and full of noise, BUT, the artistry is evident.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Crisp clear and full of story. Nicely formatted and just a great shot over all.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)So glad you gave this "room to flow into". It is nice to see you here as well , this site is one million times better than TOS (that other site). Top marks for this shot. The only problem is that members here don't review as much as TOS but at least the reviews are sincere and helpful not canned. WELCOME "great talent, honorific journalistic genius".
(5 years and 1054 days ago)WOW the way you caught this agains the urban background speaks volumes of money and wealth and how some people live. A sharp photograph with a story to tell. You have a keen eye to see beyond a boat , you include substance to this photograph. Top notch.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Blue and Yellow.you saw that and knew they are two colours that support each other for yellow never looks as yellow as when placed against blue. Your POV is also spot on and the crop and compositional style rocks. Very lovely through and through
(5 years and 1054 days ago)
your POV is great and makes the image . It is over and above the ordinary. See that grungy bunch of rags at the right side , on the margin, next time take a step to the side to eliminate that. This is what I love about this site, you have to take a photo perfectly right from the gitgo as they don't allow cloning out and stuff like on TOS. I like this one too.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)I always enjoy seeing a "human" in images. Ansel Adams once said that no matter how beautiful the photograph, once you put a human into it that is where our eyes go. And so it is with this well taken photograph which is clear, well exposed, sharp and full of story. Nice one.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Really like the POV with this gal coming right at me. You caught this well with great reflection of the boat and the patterns in the water catch our eyes. Nice technical handling as well with sharpness, good contrast, and exposure. The image is unpretentious and honest.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)This one is over the top great visual impact and the story made me smile. What a great catch, congrats. As far as technical quality goes it is spot on, nice crop, just a delight to review.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)When I lived in Nfld we could get a lobster by the roadside for $1.50 and enjoy it...wonder how much it would be now. This is a well taken photograph, and I'm happy to see the reflection caught. Remember to give boats and moving objects room to "drive into" and this makes the image more powerful, however, your tight crop is artistic prerogative and I bow to yours. Very clear well done image.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Yes, of course, I love this artistic rendering of Peggy's Cove. A few years back we read in the paper of a tourist who was swept away by a rogue wave and was never seen again, this happened here, at Peggy's Cove and this has nothing to do with a photography review, so please forgive me. I love the poetry to your upload. This is very lovely, your composition , crop, technical aspects are all spot on.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Well seen and nicely caught. Technical elements handled well in exposure (not an easy feat with all that white), contrast. It is an intersting image and my eyes went to the "do not enter" chain link sign, this is a place for "haves" and "have nots". Very nice photograph.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Your photographic elements lead us right to that golden spot of grid lines crossing. Your thoughtfulness in composition is seen here. It is too bad that the sky was not cooperating with you on this day, but that is how it goes sometimes.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Love this one for it has a strong personality and speaks to me. Images, when they are good speak to viewers. I can almost hear this one gurgling. Technically well rendered as well.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Nice photograph that is full of story and you have those men completely oblivious to your camera. A photograph that if posted in the annual Photo Exhibition would make passers by stop to study it
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Like your point of view, shooting from below to catch the noble feel of this handsome boat. A portrait crop would have worked to further enhance that feeling of nobility. Sharp and well exposed it is a very lovely photograph to study.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Nicely tucked away with the focal point clearly seen. This image speaks of solitude. Natural rendering of hues, not overcooked, sharp with good tonal ranges a very pleasant scene to stumble upon.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Sometimes as viewers of photography we can hear an image as well as see it. This photograph is noisy of birdsong (gulls) . A common scene well caught. I also think you did well to place the boat to the side and have given her room to drift into.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)I love rainy days and finding this kind of visual stimulation. The fact that the little canoe is filled with water adds to the "awww" effect of the image. Technically also well done with sharpness, natural saturation and good placement within the frame.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)From the compositional style to the crop to the "in your face" presentation this image is solidly organized by a photographer who understands their "rules" of photographic composition. I like it for the initial visual impact it gives me.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Surely you are a very conscious photographer and noticed the boat being painted by light and made the most of it. Good catch there, you have just made me more conscious of source of light, thank you for the lesson.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Lucky you to have had the clouds working on your behalf and framing these red barges for you; natural serendipity! Sharp clear and I do think the tonal values are spot on and make for an all encompassing pleasurable image to view.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)I like the contrast here. EVerything seems spiffy and clean then you have this poor rusted old girl stealing the visual show. Nicely grunged and good lead lines take us into the image.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Lots to see and I'm happy there is not garbage in the water. Clear photograph, nice and sharp with natural saturation, unpretentious image.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)This is a nice photograph, it makes me want to be there.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)Wooaaaahhh, this is really good. It is so full of visual impact, the colours are striking, the fact you have a human adds interest, sharp, delightful. I love this.
(5 years and 1055 days ago)I also think your photoshop manipulations are grrrrrrrrreat. I'm just learning that and find it really challenging.
(5 years and 1055 days ago)Yes, the iron work really pops. You are an out of the box thinker...nice.
(5 years and 1057 days ago)I can see why and looks like you two are good friends!
(5 years and 1057 days ago)S for shoe which is slipping out of the frame. It was you intention to tilt this and add a bit more excitement? It is too bad the toe has been clipped off.
(5 years and 1057 days ago)Yessssssssssssss. Clear upload, sharp, no muss no fuss....sticking to KISS principle. Good natural saturation, considered comoposition to side excites the visual journey.
(5 years and 1057 days ago)What a great portrait of this bird. YOu got close and personal and brought his beauty to us with shaprness of focus and great natural colour saturation, dark background supports and good marginal space.
(5 years and 1057 days ago)I like the 'classy' feel to this, not only the V shaped pendant but you showed a bit of purse behind and that makes us sit up in our chair. Good DOF use.
