I like the freshness of this image and colour palette of red and green makes it visually exciting as red and green are opposite on the colour palette,. Sharp, clear and full of hope. A very pleasant entry to review.
(5 years and 1050 days ago)Not only happiness but togetherness exudes from this image and it is the kind of photograph that makes one warm and fuzzy inside (excuse the cliche phrase). A lovely family portrait tightly and appropriately cropped, visually balanced.
(5 years and 1050 days ago)Oh how I wish you had said something about this image. Taken in Nara? It truly shows happiness of these two tourists and anticipation of the deer. The crop is tight amputating the legs but the emotion caught is intense and makes the shot a pleasure to review.
(5 years and 1050 days ago)Ahhh what a great moment caught! Your photo also makes the viewer smile.
(5 years and 1050 days ago)Good shutter speed to catch these two running and giggling, there is a bit of a blur which is nice because we get caught in the action. The composition is centered but consider an off centered composition to give them more room to run into, it may give you a stronger impact. I especially like the purse that little girl has it says "DREAM" and that is so true to youth filled with happiness and dreams. Remember, that part of the creative process is the title. In gallery showings oftentimes it is the title that can help in the sale of an image. I love the happiness here in this photograph.
In our PHoto Club we have a Nat Geo photographer who did a shoot in Korea and he came back with many a tilted photo image, SO, I take my hat off to you for getting your butt outta that rut and tilting this image and bringing a bit more excitement with this presentation. You have inspired me to try something like this too, thank you. I love the roses and wine all in the city of LOVE...how perfect. Sharpness is on the bottle but a different dof could have included sharpness on the roses as well, still there is a lovely romantic story to your presentation. Images often tell us something about the photographer, they reveal you to us...and now we all know you are a romantic! Smooch
(5 years and 1050 days ago)This photograph evokes many a memory for me (a Canadian who used to eat these with our First Nation people who hunt them)...so thank you for the memories! They mate for life.
(5 years and 1050 days ago)The photograph is pure and natural with good exposure sharpness on all motionless geese save for the one that is walking towards the crowd. Your exposure is skillfully done and this was not easy to shoot with all that white but you did well. A different POV would have transported this image into another realm of seeing, feeling , however, had you bent your knees to shoot them they may have taken off. Your WB button was well calibrated as the snow is white and not blue or purple. A well rendered image. Thank you and a pleasure to view.
I really like that retro feel, a bit of sepia, a bit of desaturation? Have you tried popping it a bit more with brightness to see if it would look brighter? A story telling shot and I love the hairdos on the women. You caught this well with a good shutter speed, clear and sharp. I can almost hear the music.
(5 years and 1050 days ago)Perfect perfect perfect....the colour WOW the rings WOW ...clear crisp well framed nicely balanced. This is a great photograph with mood inducing colour that excites.
(5 years and 1050 days ago)Gosh, the grunge effect is present even without photoshop grunge filter! Visually this photo gives great textural feeling and I love the diagonal slant this has. If you have Photoshop try increasing the cyan and yellow and have fun with this....just don't post it here because that is against the rules...but this is a great shot to have fun with.
(5 years and 1050 days ago)Now this is a special catch in that you have to find it and see the photographic potential it has ....and you have nailed it. Because of the colour it has great visual impact and the bottom of the boats at the left further flush out story. I would not have minded to see a bit more sail on the right but that is just me. It is a lovely entry.
(5 years and 1050 days ago)We just had a lecture at our Photo Club and the speaker said that there is an estimated 350 MILLION iPhone images taken in a day! AND looking at the world around us I do believe this to be true.
(5 years and 1050 days ago)What an absolutely great POV you have here. Was that taken by the Lake in DaLat Vietnam?
The visual impact of your image is strong because it is well balanced, nice and sharp and the story is true. They are absorbed completely and oblivious of you so that brings a smile to the viewer. Love it.
You could have called it a Tuk Tuk for T also .
(5 years and 1050 days ago)You photograph is visually very appealing with rich saturation, sharpness and great marginal space. It has story and takes us on a pleasant journey through the streets of BKK. The colours are so true to Thailand where they live each day in a different colour. This photo makes me want to visit this place. REally great, thank you.
Thank you for that...much appreciated.
(5 years and 1053 days ago)This image has a professional touch to it. It is a photograph that was created and not taken meaning it is not just a snap, but thought was put into it and it shows. The clarity it top notch and the background does not compete but supports. It is well exposed and the marginal spaces are balancing. I raise a glass to your presentation, excellent, inspiring work. I wish you had told us how your created this piece.
(5 years and 1053 days ago)Ahh, if images are supposed to tell us a story your upload does so in spades (that is just an English idiom that means a lot). Elena, a European hard working woman is welcoming us with her "kolach" (braided bread) and a "shot" of something to warm our blood. Photographically the image is sharp, well exposed, clear and nicely cropped. Do not panic about having Elena's head partially amputated. Professional portrait photographers nowadays lop off limbs, heads and the reason they give is "if the emotion is caught then that is all that matters"...and your image is packed with emotion.
(5 years and 1053 days ago)Although your drink is cold, I know, but to my eyes it appears warm and welcoming because of your colour palette furthermore, that apron (although it could be a dress) and her hangnails on fingers tells us the story of a warm hearted, hard working individual. I like the story of your upload. The compositional style with inclusion of glass peeking into the frame adds a nice dimensional element. Your photograph does show noise and possibly that is due to a heavy zoom, a denoise filter would work nicely on this to make it buttery smooth.
(5 years and 1053 days ago)Oh it is all about the story in this cat's eyes....they speak of wildness. The upload with her posed against the oil painting and on the mantle creates a classy portrait. The image itself is artistically presented in crop and composition. YES, I could easily fall in love with this cat (and I think I have.)
(5 years and 1053 days ago)A dreamy looking image and your story is heartbreaking. I have been a dog owner and the only problem with owning a dog is that they die before us and leave paw prints on our hearts...forever. I love the colour palette, however, Bella seems a bit soft...perhaps that is a good thing to offer a dreamy image.
(5 years and 1053 days ago)I love to hear stories like that. I live in Thailand and our lifestyle will not permit a dog (although in my life we have had a few). We have many street dogs here and they are timid and shy and hungry and are fed by the Thais...it is a nice scene to witness a Thai woman offering food wrapped in a banana leaf to the dog.
(5 years and 1054 days ago)OH DEAR.....consider me told off. I will remember that we are working blind. I had read the site rules, obviously I have to read them again...might be a good idea...duh! Apologies, won't happen again (she says with fingers crossed.)
(5 years and 1054 days ago)This beautifully rendered , clear and sharp image of this handsome fellow brings warmth to the viewer's heart. The fact you shot him at his eye level propels this image to the top ranks because we can engage quickly with him. His eyes are clear and sharp as are those whiskers. I don't whether to love his ears or laugh at him, no matter, it is what makes him rather a handsome boy. When you take photographs remember that you are also taking a photograph of the background too. See that big blue hue by his ear? Our eyes go there too...but it is in good bokeh, had the background been more uniform I do think the image would have been stronger. But it is the emotional impact that counts, and it rates high. This little dog is most likely under your feet all the time...a little heartbeat at your feet! Lovely....woof.
(5 years and 1055 days ago)This image makes my heart yearn for a dog. With that captivating smile he melts the viewer's heart (mine for sure). It is a nice stop action photograph rendered sharp. I would not have minded just a tad more pronouncement on the sky, just to add a bit more sparkle and visual excitement...however, I do recognize that this is artistic license and I bow to your prerogative. The composition is smack on the money because you have left room for your pet to run into, and the natural pathway of the (western) human eye is to read from left to right...so this is in tune with what we normally would read. My husband, just walked by the computer screen and had a look and he said "oh what a nice picture"....so there you have , two reviews for the price of one. Money can buy you a fine dog but to have a dog smile like this takes love. Oh and I also like you point of view. Grrrreat shot. woof
(5 years and 1055 days ago)Prince Edward County....my province, Ontario. Ahhh. There is a lot to love with this post. The look on the dog's face which you rendered nice and sharp oozes with emotion and speaks to us...that dog is looking out for you even whilst frolicking. I like your shutter speed, you caught this , not only on a nice angle which adds to the excitement of the photograph but also you froze the action clearly. The face of the dog is sharp and that is critical. Your exposure is very nicely handled as well with no blow outs or block ups on the fur. You have also composed it well giving Cassie room to run into. Well done.
(5 years and 1055 days ago)I just gave you a vote and now I see you are not Dimitri. You must forgive me joesaladino...I am new and confused....soon I will be "old" and confused.
(5 years and 1055 days ago)Dmitri, I love this because I can feel it as well as see it! You have a terrific shutter speed and your exposure is perfect in tonal ranges. The best part is that it brings an emotion out of me...that of OH WOW. Love this one a lot.
(5 years and 1055 days ago)I'm trying to make you a "friend" an all the buttons I'm pushing don't work....ahh well.
(5 years and 1058 days ago))....you sound like a true photographer, preying on your subject and getting completely engrossed...I too have done the same with bees and butterflies...and spiders.
(5 years and 1059 days ago)This image has a very strong emotional impact on me. Tolstoy once said that when an emotion is pulled out of us then art has been achieved. This is emotional because I lived and worked in an area that looked like this...Moose Factory, Ontario, Canada. I love the pull on the eye that you have caught. You have the hot pop off center but I love symmetry in photographs and think that had you placed this dead center, with equal visual weight on sky to foreground it also would have rendered a strong image....this is of course all about artistic license and I bow to your prerogative. The colour palette, the exposure is gorgeous. This is top notch...LOVE IT. Where was it taken I wonder.
(5 years and 1059 days ago)Snowshoeing...ahhh you make me homesick for my Canada. Your composition of this little beautiful fragile bird off center makes this photographic artistry. The inclusion of snowy branches in soft bokeh adds further meat to the visual story you present. You have great eye catchment, sharp clear we can see the feathers clearly...you do have slight blow out on white HOWEVER, our eyes see blow outs so why not our cameras, these blow outs add...do not subtracts from this well taken photograph. Chirp
(5 years and 1059 days ago)Kudos to you for getting him eye level. With this POV you pull us into the shot quickly. The colour palette transforms this into photographic art. The eyes are sharp with a slight blur on his nose and whiskers which gives the story of him having a bit of a nosh and that is the exclamation mark that delights us visually. Love this...a lot.
(5 years and 1059 days ago)I am drawn to the warm tones of this image. Yes, it is cold with all that snow, it is also well exposed showing detail in white, yet there seems to be a warm lovely feel to this well taken and well composed photograph which draws us in deeply into the image. The shoreline of the lake provides dynamism in a wavy line which runs diagonally across the image. Did you use a tripod? Sharp, clear, cold and warm
(5 years and 1059 days ago)I know first hand how impossible it is to get these hummingbird moths in focus...they zoom around on lightening speed. What a catch and congratulations. Do you think a tighter crop would strengthen this image....by taking out that blurred flower at the bottom and pulling in at the right would make him jump out at us even moreso. You have sharpness on his eyes and that is what counts. Lovely, simply lovely.
(5 years and 1059 days ago)These handsome 'beasts' do jump so beware as one jumped on my camera one year and scarred the beejeebees outta me. You have done such a great job on capturing him in full body with complete sharpness on those eyes where the sharpness ought to be. That black hole in the background supplies us viewers with meat to the story of this curious spider coming out to have a look at you too. This photograph makes me happy, I am delighted to see him, so posed, so sweet and in his natural environment. Love it.
(5 years and 1059 days ago)Good grief, I LOVE this, what visual impact it has, real KAPOW power. That colour palette of cold cold cold blue with sharp, well in focus, crystals just prick my eyes. Grounding us with some life (in dark green)...perfect.
(5 years and 1059 days ago)What an absolutely most handsome "beast" sitting there in very well caught camouflage, I almost missed him. I like the surprise element to your photograph it delights me. Initially the grapes on the left (viewer's left) led the eye out of the frame so I can't help but wonder had you included them in the photograph if the image would be strengthened, but I must say that bug captivates. Your shot is sharp, natural hues, good bokeh. Instead of including more grapes, try cropping up to remove the blocked up aspect of the grapes (very dark part which has no detail) and try nipping it a bit more at the right but do leave green background in and see if you like it better as it would eliminate the block up and bring in the handsome brute in a tad closer to us. I love finding these kinds of surprises in nature and thank you for bringing him to us.
(5 years and 1059 days ago)Ahhhh we have a professional amongst us I see. You have a bit of noise on this but the emotive impact is sensational and the artistry blows this out of the ball park.
(5 years and 1059 days ago)Not only can we clearly see this monarch but we can hear the soft flutter of wings...he's that close to us. You have a very tight crop and with that crop we viewers are pulled in immediately to the image. You have some detail lost in the black , called "black clipping" or "block up", were you shooting on A or Manual mode? This was not an easy image to get right for you have a sunny day and some details lost on the red petals of flowers. Focus is good with his proboscis clearly seen and his beautiful wings have been delightfully caught by you. The colour is natural and fresh.
(5 years and 1059 days ago)Butterflies delight us carbon based bi-peds and torment us photographers. Pretty to look at and so difficult to get sharp. Your butterfly comes across as quite soft through all the planes of the image. I do not think this is camera shake but rather the focus may have been off. Some photographers want their images to appear soft at times and I'm wondering if that is what you were gunning for? I do think the composition and crop are very well done showing the environs of this pretty "flying flower" as we sometimes refer to the butterfly.
(5 years and 1059 days ago)This photograph brings a smile to my face. These poor bees work so darned hard and we take all their honey! If images tell us a bit about the photographer we can see that you have a good sense of humour and see the funny side of life and you have brought it to us delightfully. Sharp as a pin, good exposure but there seems to be a bit of noise on it and most likely that is due to a strong zoom...still it does not take away from this wonderful to review photograph.
(5 years and 1059 days ago)I love the effect this macro has on me...it is emotive. This reminds me of my own skin ...wrinkles, capillaries showing, blood flow. I love it. It looks well exposed, crystal (pun intended) clear and full frame. Visual candy.
(5 years and 1059 days ago)This is the kind of image that has a great visual draw. It is layered giving a two dimensional element a three dimensional feel. We are drawn in by your strong foreground, it is well exposed and details well seen. The yellow and blue colour palette (yellow never looks as yellow as when we place it against blue) is simply sublime. It is the layers of seashore white, to crystal clear blues to deeper tones , the hard line of horizon then our journey ends with blue clear skies and to catch our eyes and give a focal rest stop is the white of the boat and an enticing piece of outcrop of land at the side. Beautifully seen and well caught. Top notch work here.
(5 years and 1059 days ago)It is the combination of water (life) and the detail of the red rose that brings magic to the viewer. I think your compositional style gives this presentation a visual pop ...it is strong with a straight stand of rose and the crop is tight with no distraction of background. Nice and sharp as well. Luscious and delicious
(5 years and 1059 days ago)This is indeed a most beautiful scene. The pastel shades in the awakening sky really have a great visual impact. It seems like a bit of a long exposure rendering the water milky smooth and the sharpness is exact. There is also good detail shown in the shadow aspect of the photograph indicating good exposure. Love it.
(5 years and 1059 days ago)I loved this one...congratulations, way to go!
(5 years and 1061 days ago)WOW, this is eye candy at it's best. Beautiful eye grabbing sharpness and the reflections are perfect. I love this, thank you for this beautiful image.
(5 years and 1063 days ago)Love the minimalism of this, strong and simple and to the point and all about paper. Nice line here too, in a diagonal and that adds excitement. Black and white YES...for the b/w holds us in the story where colour would have made this into a snappy happy photo. This is a picture made, not a picture taken. Love it.
(5 years and 1064 days ago)Yes, I know, it is good.
(5 years and 1064 days ago)Still is an OK place to be isn't it?
(5 years and 1064 days ago)Hmmmm, yes, there is less leaf and more butterfly. I still like it, don't you?
(5 years and 1064 days ago)These are happy feet, well cared for and pampered and enjoying their walk. You photo brings a smile to my face for they could very well be my feet, so I resonate with your photography. Nice and clear and a sunny day too...this has a good story to it. Enjoyable.
