This image caused me to pause, to exclaim OH WOW. It is so full of emotion, has a moment and tells such a strong story. I wonder if this was a spontaneous photo taken or staged? I pray it was staged and that this family does actually communicate with each other. The photograph is sharp, well contrasted easy to grasp (visually). ......and it saddens me. (which in photography is a good thing to get emotion out of the viewer)
(5 years and 1093 days ago)What a splendid idea and thank you for the inspiration. Taking a model car placing it on a mirror and shooting...EGADS...you don't need photoshop. Thank you for teaching us through this image. It is sharp as "a woman's tongue", colour saturation natural, surrealism captured through your technique. Placed on a diagonal it oozes movement....and the marginal spaces are appropriate. I really like this one, thank you.
(5 years and 1093 days ago)I like what you have done here. That car really pops in vibrancy, glow while the rest of the image has a softness to it. The colour palette of blue, yellow , red, primary colours....strong and visually delight us. You have good action and the subjects have no idea that you were shooting this scene. The sign of "cooperation repair" beside the Chinese script takes us on a journey of elsewhere and adds to the story of your presentation. The image is nicely balanced, straight, well cropped and composed. It is solid through and through. I do think it would have been stronger had the dof been sharper on all aspects of the image.
(5 years and 1093 days ago)There are a lot of things to like about your creation. The fact that Mona Lisa is in shadows creates a mystery against the apocalyptic scene...it is as if there is still hope and the candle shows that we revere the beautiful in life. The three gas masks however look rather "glued on" there needs to be more combining, blurring of the hard margin to make them part of the scene. The yellow barrel is grrrrrrrrrreat with that shadow and feels like it belongs. What a great story you have created for our imaginations. Thank you.
(5 years and 1093 days ago)This has a lot of work put into it, and I mean a LOT. I've been scouring the page for margin errors, and any errors at all and can't find anything except to learn from your work and for that I thank you. I'm pressing the heart at the right, not sure what it will do but I hope it is something positive.
(5 years and 1093 days ago)When I see photographs like this I can honestly say that I almost miss winter (stress almost). This was not an easy photo to get so right. Shooting white is difficult as it tends to blow out with the wrong exposure and you seem to have nailed it for not only is the exposure smack on the money but the white button calibration is good...you have white snow. KUDOS ...well done. The ISO is also skillfully done with a smooth background, no noise at all...smooth as butter. The image is sharp with appropriate dof to soften the background and the horizontal cut rule of photography was wisely applied. The format, in that tall presentation (not centered) is striking because the human eye reads along the longest line and as we study this image we go from bottom to top and we get engaged with your photograph. The colour palette is minimal and oh so cold in blues with a hint of warmth coming at us from the side. The beauty of winter, well seen and well shown. Thank you.
(5 years and 1095 days ago)I'm still learning, thank you.
(5 years and 1095 days ago)Thank you for educating us re: the name of this handsome fellow! Your catch is crisp and clear and the iridescent colours natural. The dof used shows good sharpness on face and thorax with some softening towards the interior of image, which is fine and pleasant to see. Your contrast and exposure is excellent with no clipping showing on the dark aspects of the photograph and no blow outs, well done. The format is most appropriate in a large horizontal. This format allows our eyes to dance across your canvas and to take in the beauty that your eyes (and camera) saw to share with us. Thank you for delighting us with your Golden Rose Chafer.
(5 years and 1096 days ago)Titles are part of the creative process and add to the meaning of the photo. Your title made me smile and I could almost hear those mosquitoes coming at me. I like how you saw this image with that point on the hill pointing to the heavens (where dwell those mosquitoes) and the heavens themselves are clear, azure blue, striking. You have a really nice visual balance with that bush at the left weighing nicely against that mount. The technical elements are crisp and clear with great detail showing. The colour palette natural and not overcooked at all. This is a breezy and delightful find of nature at its prettiest.
(5 years and 1096 days ago)This is certainly a most eye grabbing image of an osprey. The eye catchment technique is splendid and riveting. I really like your POV, you have us looking up and this gives this bird a rather regal appearance, and he surely deserves that royal look. The dof used is perfect with the complete obliteration of background yet the colour palette supports the main focal point. A bit of blur at the very bottom of naughty leaves getting in the way and I can't help but wonder if you cropped up it would improve the image, make it cleaner and stronger, and a bit of a nip at the top, removing all that negative space would make the focal point tighter and engage us even more than it already does. Sharp, great contrast, simply dynamite.
(5 years and 1096 days ago)I really like the bokeh applied to this image. Keeping the eyes sharp draws us into his world and the background reminds us of his environment. It is important to capture soul and you have done this beautifully. Your crop and compositional style is well thought out...it is tight at the top but it matters naught because you do have "soul" and that is what matters most. Nice contrast, natural hues. Very delightful view.
(5 years and 1099 days ago)I really like the "in your face" presentation. Your colour saturation is good as is the focus, it feels natural and unpretentious. The bokeh is perfect showing detail in softness of the background, contrast, exposure spot on the money. The diagonal of the tree adds to a feeling of movement and that always excites us visually. Very nice.
(5 years and 1099 days ago)An artistic upload shows how fragile nature is with the encroachment of distant city. This image makes us stop and think. I love your compositional style. Thank you.
(5 years and 1100 days ago)Sharp image and that mound juxtaposed against the trees was an excellent way to shoot this. Thank you .
