I've create a new smoke instead of the brush.. I use a black background and draw white lines.. a lot of liquify, motion blur, liquify, fade liquify, blur, other lines, multiply and wrap the leayer with different blends...inverse the final result , put in place and set the layer to multiply mode

I draw everything without using any path or selection..or shape.. using my bamboo tablet.. the only time I used a filter its on the shadow for a blur....
