This tutorial is about how to create some really cool logos, tribal symbols, and other cool signs and such with 3dsmax. (Some content shown in this tutorial may also have included post work in Photoshop.) This tutorial should work for just about any version of max, and is cut down into 2 different parts (one for 3dsmax, and another for Photoshop.)

How to make a car-paint without the use of additional plugins.
For this tutorial, an average knowledge about 3dsMax is needed. Most people that make cars or other objects they want to give a car-paint to, have the problem of not having brazil or any other expensive plugin. However, 3dsMax has it's own box of tricks. Read on to find out how easy a material setup can be with a realistic result at the end. Of course, some things need tweaking, but that depends on your own view.

Texturing Sad Mike is split in two parts. Both parts are about texturing SadMike's head but each part will deal with this problem in a different way. In part one we will see how to apply textures using the texporter plugin, and in part two we will use the "Unwrap UVW" modifier.

Before we start with the tutorial we want to make it clear that this tutorial uses both 3dmax and photoshop and it's not designed for complete beginners at photoshop nor max since there are going to be things that we're not going to explain such as the position of some tools, adjusting brush sizes, creating layers etc.. nor simple commands of max's user interface such as applying bitmaps nor other map types, exact position of map settings but if you get stuck in a certain area or don't know how to do a certain command don't give up quickly, make sure to take a quick look at the reference manual for either max or photoshop to answer your questions. Painting textures can be very time consuming but very rewarding and maybe you won't like how things are going in the beginning but it will start looking better as it progresses.
The tutorial is broken up into several parts and subtutorials. Please follow every single one to achieve a spectacular result!
