Morphing is the simplest facial method and good for new and advanced artists. Morphing takes vertex positions from duplicated models and blends them onto the selected morph model. By blending from multiple ‘reference’ models you can generate a number of expressions for the character while retaining flexibility on editing the original model. Morphs can be very effective to generate special facial affects like ‘lump on head’ for cartoon scenes as the head mesh can be happily manipulated with little issues. One interesting affect of morphs is that you can invert the morph % this can turn a blink into a stare or a smile into a sulk, as the morph inverts the vertex position. Some of these inverts will require limits so no distortions appear.

Before you do this tutorial you will need to know a couple of things. First of all you must have a good knowledge of the 3dsmax interface and tools. Second you have to be familiar the the standard animation and modelling tools in 3dsmax.
This tutorials has two parts. The first part is preparing the bicyle model. And the second one is adding a biped to the bicycle.

Hello everyone, this tutorial will guide you through the process of creating a full tank rig system in 3ds max, well... maybe not fully but certainly with a lot of tools to make a realistic tank animation, actually, when you've learned this, you'll be able to make a car rig too with a little modifications. This is a medium-level tutorial, so you need some knowledge with the max's rigging tools (bones, IKs, constraints, and so).

Spline modeling is excellent in the way that it forces you to use a minimum of splines to create your shape, you are forced to think before you act. If you don't you'll end up with a mess of bezier curves that you just can't handle. Even more it will get extremely hard to get a smooth surface.
We hope this tutorial will teach you both the spline modeler and other modelers a thing or two about modeling with splines but also about modeling in general. We don't want to stress this tutorial as being A NOSE TUTORIAL, it shouldn't really matter what you are modeling, what is important is that you study your subject first and once you think you know enough it is time to open your modeling tool.

This is a tutorial which covers the basics of modeling and rigging a toon character. It doesn't go into much detail and it is definitely the quick and easy method for fast results. It's for the intermediate user and assumes knowledge of edit mesh editing and the 'modifier stack'.

Even though this is a tutorial aimed at beginners, we still assume you have working knowledge of all of max's basic transform and manipulation tools, and that you have a basic working knowledge of hierarchies, node creation and modification, etc. We won't stop to explain these. If you still have problems following this tutorial, we'd suggest doing the tutorials that ship with your copy of the software first, and moving on to this tut afterwords. Enjoy!
