This tutorial will teach you how to create a grass field in 3D Studio Max using the 'Scatter' Compound Modifier. This modifier could be used to scatter copies of any object on a surface of another object. The technique learnt in this tutorial could be used to generate similar scenes of any scattered content that needs to be spread over a certain area. Below is an example image of what we will be creating by the end of this tutorial.

This tutorial will teach you how to create an animation of a missile that flies targeting an object and then explodes when hitting that target. Our animation will be created using the Particle Flow Source (PF Source). PF Source is a powerful multi-purpose particle system that lets us manipulate a large number of particles to create effects such as fire, rain, snow, and smoke. We will PF Source in this tutorial to create our missile animation by doing the following:

This tutorial will teach you how to create a foggy scene in 3D Studio Max. We will create our scene using two atmospheric filters: "Fog" and "Volume Fog". It is possible to create a foggy scene using one of these alone, you shall be able to experiment with these on your own once you are done with this tutorial. We are using this model (MAX File) in our tutorial, please download it to follow this tutorial.

This tutorial covers basic text generation, and shows how to get an object (in this case - the text) to deform and follow a circular path. It is assumed that you have an understanding of the locations of toolbars (create, modify) and transform buttons in MAX (move, rotate, scale), and some understanding of 3D principles.

So this is a tutorial on how to attach an animatable head to an animatable body in Max 4 ready to use morph targets and physique. It's aimed at intermediate users who want to get simple animation rigs together for their characters using just morph targets and character studio. This tutorial was created in Max 4.2, but things are pretty much the same for any version of Max from Max 3.0 and up.

The easiest way to create a tree would be just to take a box, and start doing some extrutions on the top face, and then extrude out some branches. The problem with what we usually see is that they have the main trunk going all the way to the top. That would be good only for an evergreen tree. For a normal tree however, we've put together this small tutorial.
