We'd like demonstrate to you the potential use of the 3D Total Textures. To accomplish this we created two versions of the particular scene - one "clean", utilizing only some of the original textures to be found on the CD's; one "dirty", complementing the flawless textures by adding grime and graffiti. For this we used Cinema 4D and Photoshop.
If you need to create a 3D pumpkin for seasonal graphics (whether for Halloween or Thanksgiving), you may wish to use a 3D application to give you more control over your digital pumpkin. In this series, we'll have some simple steps showing how to texture a previously modeled pumpkin shape.
Rather than fueling the debate of which is better, we're going to use the power of 3D, raster and vector in this almost obsessive typographic treatment. This tutorial relies on the stellar combination of C4D, Illustrator and Photoshop and touches on aspects of 3D Modeling, vector integration, brush work and photo manipulation. This is all coordinated to create a final illustrated typography design.
A popular way to create 3D logos is to import ".eps" or ".ai" files from applications such as Adobe Illustrator. CINEMA 4D can then use the Extrude NURBS object to turn the path into 3D text. There are also some useful options for texturing, such as using a different color for the rounded edges.
Occasionally you can run into problems when you try to wrap, bend or twist 3D text. This is usually because the faces or sides of the text need more segments so that the text can be deformed cleanly. This tutorial shows you the main controls for getting clean text every time.
