If you need to create a 3D pumpkin for seasonal graphics (whether for Halloween or Thanksgiving), you may wish to use a 3D application to give you more control over your digital pumpkin. In this series, we'll have some simple steps showing how to texture a previously modeled pumpkin shape.
A popular way to create 3D logos is to import ".eps" or ".ai" files from applications such as Adobe Illustrator. CINEMA 4D can then use the Extrude NURBS object to turn the path into 3D text. There are also some useful options for texturing, such as using a different color for the rounded edges.
In part two of this tutorial, we will show you how to set up the textures and the lights in this scene to prepare it for render. We use the GI Sky Sampler and an HDRI image to light the scene without any actual lights.
