One of the features most requested by Illustrator users has been a good trace tool to turn bitmaps into vector drawings. Adobe stopped upgrading its vector conversion application Streamline some time ago, and the Trace Tool included in Illustrator has always been sadly lacking. That is, until now! With the new CS2 version, Illustrator users finally have a great trace tool.

In this tutorial we hope to illustrate some of the process of logo design using Adobe Illustrator. However, we must stress, this is not so much a tutorial on the use of Adobe Illustrator as it is a way to show you one method of the "process" of refining an image to a corporate identity (logo) or stylized illustration. The basic process here could be applied to any application.

It’s that time again… time to find that killer job/internship! A good way to include more sample projects with your resume is to create a sample page and print it on our color printer. Very impressive! But, it’s not as easy as simply copying the objects and images and pasting it into an Illustrator file.
What happens when an Illustrator file is created is that you have a series of objects and a series of placed images. Most of the time, the images are linked to rather than contained within that Illustrator file, and that is GOOD; too many problems are caused by including files in the illustrator file that are way too large. But for the purpose of creating a sample page, this is a problem rather than a benefit.
