Let’s face it… sometimes the texture maps provided with object files are less than optimum for producing good textures. Sometimes there’s no map provided at all. This tutorial will walk you through the process of creating or re-mapping an object texture map.
Scope: Re-mapping object files, import and export of UV’s, saving new object files.

Modelling for Poser is fraught with danger. An object that renders properly in most other 3D software can easily turn into an ugly mess in Poser. This is because Poser is extremely fussy about how objects are constructed. This article examines two of the most common problems when creating objects for Poser. Note that this is not a step by step tutorial. It's purely nuts and bolts information, but information you need to know. We don't claim that the techniques we're presenting are the only, or the correct way to do things, but they have worked consistently for us. We mostly create hard edged, mechanical objects, and that is the focus of this article. The information presented here applies equally to DAZ|Studio, which also seems to be just as fussy as Poser when it comes to object construction. We're assuming you are familiar with your modelling software and general 3D terminology, as we won't be explaining basic concepts.
